Language: Kharen InterpreterWe are currently looking for both VRI and on-site US-based ASL interpreters. An ASL interpreter will provide sign language interpretation services in a variety of settings, including working with individuals who are deaf, deafened, hard of hearing, and/or oral, empowering them to advocate for themselves and their needs.Candidate Qualifications:3 years’ experience working as an interpreter (preferred, but not required)An associate’s or bachelor’s degree (preferred, but not required)Interpreter certificationUnderstanding of deaf culture, social experiences of deaf and hard of hearing persons, history of education for students who have various levels of hearing loss, and current pedagogical trends for Proven interpersonal skills when working with deaf and hearing impaired persons, communication service providers, instructors, and administratorsProficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, electronic scheduling, and internetExcellent written communication skillsAbility to work independently and within a teamResponsibilities:Effectively interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken EnglishMaintain, as applicable, compliance with any national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirementsAdhere to guidelines for NAD-RID Code of Professional ConductAccurately complete assigned tasks/duties, projects, and paperwork promptly and within approved guidelinesPossess the ability to quickly learn and implement new and changing technologiesPossess the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic, highly regulated environmentDemonstrate willingness and ability to complete additional duties and assignments on an on-going basisAdditional Requirements:Computer or LaptopWindows 10 or higherSteady wired internet connectionAt a minimum, download speeds of 20 Mbps and upload speeds of 10 MbpsWebcamUSB wired headsetBackdrop; use a contrasting, solid color like royal blue, charcoal, or bright green.**Based on your location, background check and/or drug screening may be required.
