The role will provide technical leadership and design assurance across technology vendors, system integrators and development teams, ensuring that technical designs and deliverables align with established architecture principles, technical standards, operational requirements and the overall One Comcentre technology vision. Working in partnership with the Product Manager and business stakeholders , the Lead Solutions Architect will translate business requirements, product concepts and use cases into technically feasible solution architectures, specifications and implementation plans, and lead their technical delivery from concept through prototyping, integration, testing, commissioning and production deployment. The role will also support the evolution of Smart Buildings towards AI-enabled and increasingly autonomous operations , applying Generative AI, Agentic AI, robotics and emerging technologies to enhance building operations, workplace experiences and tenant services. Make An Impact By Smart Building Solution Architecture Lead the end-to-end solution architecture for Smart Building, Workplace and Autonomous Systems. Develop logical, physical, integration, data and deployment architectures. Define how ISP, BMS, IoT/OT systems, building subsystems, workplace platforms, tenant technologies, data platforms, AI and autonomous systems operate as an integrated ecosystem. Evaluate technology and solution options based on interoperability, scalability, resilience, security, operability and lifecycle considerations. Ensure architecture supports both current building requirements and future technology evolution. Architecture Framework & Technical Governance Work with the Practice Lead to establish and maintain the One Comcentre architecture framework, reference architectures and technical standards . Define architecture principles, integration patterns, technical guardrails and engineering standards. Establish requirements for APIs, data exchange, interoperability, cybersecurity and system interfaces. Conduct architecture and technical design reviews across vendors and system integrators. Assess design deviations and recommend appropriate technical resolutions. Maintain architecture decisions, technical baselines and key design documentation. Ensure vendor solutions and deliverables comply with approved architecture and technical requirements. Smart Building & OpsTech Integration Provide technical leadership for the implementation and integration of ISP, BMS and other Smart Building subsystems . Coordinate integration across access control, security, smart lifts, visitor management, smart parking, lighting, energy management, environmental systems, workplace technologies and other building systems. Ensure building systems can securely exchange data, events and authorised commands with other platforms. Identify cross-system dependencies, integration risks and technical constraints early in the design and delivery lifecycle. Ensure Smart Building systems do not evolve into isolated technology silos. Systems Integration & Interoperability Define northbound and southbound integration requirements. Develop and review APIs, interface specifications, data flows and system interaction sequences. Apply appropriate API, IoT, messaging and event-driven integration patterns. Define data ownership, system-of-record and information-exchange principles. Review vendor APIs, SDKs and integration capabilities. Design integration across cloud, edge and on-premises environments. Promote open architecture and minimise unnecessary proprietary dependencies and technology lock-in. Technical Design & Vendor Assurance Review and challenge vendor architecture and detailed technical designs. Conduct technical design workshops and engineering reviews. Assess vendor technical submissions against specifications and architecture standards. Review interface-control documents, APIs, network requirements, data flows and system dependencies. Identify design gaps, integration risks and technical non-compliance. Drive technical issues through resolution with vendors, consultants and system integrators. Support technical assessment of design changes and their impact. Ensure final as-built designs and technical documentation accurately reflect the implemented environment. Solution Engineering & Technical Delivery Translate business and functional requirements into technical requirements and solution designs. Lead the technical lifecycle from requirements, architecture and detailed design through build, integration, testing, commissioning and operational handover . Coordinate technical dependencies across multiple systems and delivery teams. Resolve complex cross-platform and integration issues. Define technical acceptance criteria and validation requirements. Participate in relevant FAT, SAT, SIT, UAT and commissioning activities. Ensure solutions are technically ready, supportable and operationally viable before production acceptance. AI & Autonomous Building Architecture Design technical architectures for the application of Generative AI and Agentic AI within Smart Building operations. Develop integration patterns between AI agents, building platforms, operational systems and data sources. Design agentic workflows capable of supporting intelligent decision-making and authorised operational automation. Define appropriate security, governance, human-in-the-loop, fail-safe and exception-handling mechanisms. Evaluate emerging AI technologies for technical feasibility, scalability and production readiness. Support the progressive evolution from conventional building automation towards more intelligent and autonomous building operations. Robotics & Physical AI Integration Develop technical architecture for integrating robotics and autonomous systems into the Smart Building environment. Define robot interaction with lifts, automatic doors, access control, communications and other building infrastructure.
