In this role, you will join our Supply Chain team and play a key part in ensuring smooth material flow between Emerson and external subcontractors, while supporting inventory accuracy, stock optimization, and operational excellence. Working closely with Logistics, Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, Quality, and Production teams, you will help maintain efficient inventory processes, coordinate subcontracting activities, investigate discrepancies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on individual contributor role reporting to the Logistics Manager, offering the opportunity to make a direct impact on business performance through analytical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving. The role is aligned with key success factors including material flow, inventory accuracy, stock optimization, inventory parameter management, and cross-functional collaboration. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Coordinate material flow with external subcontractors performing assembly activities for Emerson products. Prepare shipping documentation and ensure timely and accurate shipment of materials to subcontractors. Track materials and components sent to suppliers and record finished goods upon receipt. Build and maintain effective working relationships with subcontractors, ensuring timely follow-up on open actions and material availability. Serve as the site Inventory Champion, promoting inventory accuracy and stock optimization. Perform and coordinate daily cycle count activities and physical inventory verification processes. Investigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all transactions are properly recorded in the ERP system. Analyze inventory trends, stock levels, safety stock settings, and replenishment parameters to support optimal inventory performance. Identify slow-moving, excess, and potentially obsolete inventory and recommend improvement actions. Support the gradual management of obsolete inventory through BOM analysis and evaluation of inventory disposition options. Handle routine inventory and quality-related transactions, including returns, stock movements, and non-conforming materials. Investigate quality-related inventory issues and prepare all required supporting documentation. Work extensively with Excel and data analysis tools to monitor inventory performance and resolve operational issues. Collaborate closely with Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, Production, and Quality teams to support business objectives and continuous improvement initiatives. Review technical drawings when required to support inventory, material identification, and operational activities. Support process improvements that increase inventory accuracy, material availability, and operational efficiency. For This Role, You Will Need: Experience in logistics, supply chain, inventory management, production planning, warehouse operations, or a related field; or relevant academic training combined with strong analytical capability. Ability to independently manage day-to-day interactions with suppliers and subcontractors. Experience working with inventory processes, stock control activities, cycle counting, or inventory reconciliation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and identify root causes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze data and identify trends. Experience using ERP systems for inventory transactions, stock management, planning parameters, or operational processes. Ability to accurately manage documentation and maintain data integrity. Comfortable working in both office and operational environments, including regular interaction with warehouse and production areas while following all safety requirements. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Good written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English. Eligibility to work in Italy. Minimum Qualifications Clarification Candidates are considered minimally qualified if they can demonstrate: Practical understanding of inventory, logistics, supply chain, warehouse, planning, or related operational processes through work experience, internships, apprenticeships, or relevant education. Strong Excel skills and comfort working with operational data. Ability to investigate issues, analyze information, and follow problems through to resolution. Experience or demonstrated capability to work with ERP or business systems. English and Italian communication skills sufficient for daily business interactions. Not Minimally Qualified Candidates would generally not be considered minimally qualified if they: Lack exposure to inventory, logistics, supply chain, warehouse, planning, or related operational activities. Are unable to work effectively with Excel or operational data. Cannot demonstrate analytical problem-solving capabilities. Have no experience using business systems or ERP tools and are unable to learn system-based processes quickly. Are unable to communicate effectively in English for business purposes. Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Experience coordinating subcontracting operations and managing material flows between manufacturing sites and external suppliers. Experience acting as an inventory owner, inventory champion, or key inventory control resource. Knowledge of inventory optimization techniques, including safety stock, reorder points, and stock parameter management. Experience with cycle count programs and inventory accuracy improvement initiatives. Familiarity with ERP platforms such as Syteline, SAP, or similar systems. Understanding of production environments, manufacturing processes, and material planning concepts. Experience analyzing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting inventory reduction or obsolescence initiatives. Education in logistics, supply chain, transportation, operations, planning, engineering, business, or a related discipline. Recent graduates with strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and a genuine interest in supply chain operations are encouraged to apply. Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The total compensation salary range for this role is 30.000 to 40.000 EUR annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
