Job Summary The Machine Operator P30 is responsible for operating P30 equipment in a stamping environment. This role ensures precision forming, punching, and spot welding of metal components according to production specifications. This position has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and exposure with running press equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Operate P30 machines (punch press, brake press, spot welder) to fabricate metal components under supervision. • Work from blueprints to produce parts that meet customer specifications. • Load and unload materials into P30 machinery, ensuring proper alignment and positioning. • Performs material handling operations such as moving finished parts, containers, bins and/or dunnage. • Ensures finished parts are packaged according to customer specifications. • Reports any department equipment issues to lead and/or supervisor. • Assists with making minor machine setting adjustments under supervision. • Assists in visual quality inspection and dimensional checks using templates, samples or fixed gauges. • Performs minor rework or auxiliary tasks as needed. • Accurately records and updates production white board. • Cross trains on other equipment as directed by supervision. • Follow company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards. • Accurately log job information into ERP computer system. • Accurately fill out required operations and quality paperwork. • Other Duties as Assigned: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience and/or Training: • Minimum 6 months of experience or training of brake press, punch press, and/or spot welding operation. • Must possess proficiency in math (adding, subtracting, converting decimals, and fractions) • Must possess proficiency in measurement skills (tape measure, protractor, height gauge, and caliper) • Must possess mechanical aptitude • Must possess proficiency in reading blueprints, customer drawings,etc. • Knowledge of reading, writing, and understanding work instructions, work orders, or customer specifications Preferred Qualifications Education: N/A Experience and/or Training: • Prior experience with punch press troubleshooting and maintenance • Prior experience with brake press troubleshooting maintenance • Prior experience with automated welding machines • Prior experience with lean manufacturing Physical and Mental Demands • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls. • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move between work areas. • Regularly required to talk and listen, as well as climb, balance, and reach above shoulder level. • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. • The employee must be able to lift and or carry up to 50 lbs. frequently. • Travel: Not Applicable The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Working Environment Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where loud noise exposure is regular and frequent.
