Mahjong Instructor

Lakeshore Sport & Fitness is seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Mahjong Instructor to lead instructional play sessions 1–2 times per month. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves Mahjong and enjoys teaching both beginners and social players in a welcoming, community-focused environment.Position OverviewWe are looking for an instructor who can confidently teach the fundamentals of Mahjong while creating a fun, inclusive, and social atmosphere. Our Mahjong events attract adult participants (primarily beginners and intermediate players), so patience, clarity, and enthusiasm are key.ResponsibilitiesLead structured Mahjong 101 instructional sessionsTeach rules, strategy, and game flow in a clear and engaging wayFacilitate organized play and assist participants during gamesCreate a warm, social, and approachable environmentArrive prepared and on time for scheduled events (typically weekends or weekday evenings)QualificationsStrong knowledge of American Mahjong Prior teaching or facilitation experience preferredFriendly, professional, and comfortable speaking to small groupsReliable and punctualSchedule1–2 sessions per monthEvents typically run 2–3 hoursCompensationCompetitive hourly/event-based pay (based on experience)If you’re passionate about Mahjong and enjoy bringing people together through learning and play, we’d love to hear from you!Please send a brief description of your Mahjong experience to [email protected]
