Broad Function and Purpose of Position: The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency. This role manages work orders, preventive maintenance (PM) programs, spare parts inventory, and procurement, while serving as the key liaison between maintenance, production, and contractors. The planner also drives continuous improvement, supports technical development, and ensures maintenance work is executed safely and effectively. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Specific Responsibilities: Actively participate in the plant’s Sika SAFE Program. Understand, comply, and regularly inspect the work area to ensure all safety policies and practices are followed and a high degree of industrial housekeeping is maintained at all times. Develop detailed work plans for preventive and corrective maintenance, prioritizing tasks based on urgency, safety, and operational impact. Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities with production to minimize downtime and disruption. Review, prioritize, and distribute work orders daily; serve as the primary contact for all work order submissions. Ensure timely completion of work orders and preventive maintenance tasks. Estimate labor hours, materials, and resources required for each maintenance job. Plan and support large-scale maintenance events, including plant shutdowns and major equipment overhauls. Maintain and update all maintenance data within the FIIX CMMS, including work orders, asset history, and documentation. Track, analyze, and report on maintenance performance metrics and effectiveness. Prepare reports related to maintenance activities, costs, and system improvements. Manage and optimize spare parts inventory to ensure availability for both planned and emergency maintenance. Lead procurement activities including specifying, quoting, and ordering parts, materials, tools, and equipment. Maintain detailed purchasing records and support budget tracking. Drive continuous improvement of inventory control and stocking strategies. Act as the central liaison between maintenance, production, contractors, and vendors. Gather daily equipment and process updates from production and communicate maintenance priorities accordingly. Assist in coordinating contractor repairs and external service activities. Ensure clear communication and alignment across all departments regarding maintenance work. Support operators and maintenance technicians in developing technical skills and equipment knowledge. Review equipment manuals and establish standard maintenance procedures and best practices. Develop, document, and maintain standardized maintenance work instructions and procedures. Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance strategies to improve reliability and efficiency. Provide supervisory support to the maintenance team in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager. Assist in training maintenance personnel on new procedures, systems, and best practices. Perform other work and special projects as required by Supervisor. Qualifications/Experience: • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or maintenance professional certificates preferred. • Years Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in general repairs in a manufacturing environment, including experience in at least two of the following trades: electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, welding or machining; OR any combination of training that provides the required knowledge and abilities to do the job.
