About the Role This is an entry-level leader role designed to make maximum impact on a small team focused on driving deal execution. Reporting directly to our VP of Sales, you'll take on a team of 4-5 Account Executives in our Mid-Market segment and be expected to stay close to the deals themselves, not just the activity. This is a hands-on leadership seat: you'll coach, but you'll also jump on calls, help structure deals, and show the team what winning looks like from inside the work. Here's what you'll do Own quota attainment and pipeline health across your team's book of business, with direct accountability for forecast accuracy and pacing to plan Lead and coach a team of 4-5 Account Executives through deal reviews, pipeline inspection, and regular 1:1 coaching Get in the weeds on deals alongside your reps: join calls, help structure terms, and step in to close when it counts Carry influence over outcomes even on deals you're not directly running, setting the standard for what good execution looks like Partner closely with the VP of Sales and sales leadership during the initial ramp period to shape team structure, territory design, and hiring priorities as the segment evolves Hire, onboard, and develop Account Executives as the team grows, building the bar for who joins this team Partner with Marketing, Product, and Operations to surface field insights and keep GTM execution aligned as the mid-market motion matures What We’re Looking For Must-haves: 2-4 years of experience managing or directly leading a sales team, ideally in a mid-market or SMB segment Demonstrated experience staying close to deal execution, working pipeline and calls directly rather than managing only from reporting Experience hiring and developing Account Executives, or clear readiness to do so Comfort operating in ambiguity, with reporting lines and team structure still being defined Working experience with CRM tools like Salesforce for pipeline management and forecasting Ability to travel regionally 30% of the time in order to help close business, plus 1-4 trips per year to attend company and industry conferences and events Nice-to-haves: Background in proptech, multifamily, or an adjacent vertical market Familiarity with Gong or similar conversation intelligence tools Experience building a sales team or segment from an early stage This is a fully remote role, with an expectation of travel listed above. Here's the Pay Range: At Apartment List, we carefully consider a variety of factors to determine compensation for each position, including the role, level, and work. The US compensation range for this position is $180,000- $200,000 OTE (UNCAPPED) Base salary range: $108,000 - $120,000 + equity, which reflects the compensation target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Please note, the compensation details reflect base salary only and do not include bonus, benefits, and perks that we offer. We also rely on market indicators along with considering your work location, job related skills, experience and relevant education and training, to determine compensation that is fair and competitive for you. Apartment List will consider paying compensation near the higher of the range in exceptional circumstances, where candidates have the experience, credentials or expertise that would warrant such consideration.
