Join EY and help to build a better working world. The opportunity At EY-Parthenon, our unique combination of transformative strategy, transactions, tax and corporate finance delivers real-world value – solutions that work in practice, not just on paper. Benefiting from EY’s full spectrum of services, we’ve reimagined strategic consulting to work in a world of increasing complexity. With deep functional and sector expertise, paired with innovative AI-powered technology and an investor mindset, we partner with CEOs, boards, private equity and governments every step of the way. Join our Deal Finance team within the Strategy & Execution practice. We help CFOs and finance leaders solve complex business challenges, strengthen finance functions and deliver sustainable value, often at important points of change. Our work spans sectors including Advanced Manufacturing & Mobility, Telecommunications, Media & Technology, Energy, Health Sciences & Wellness, and Private Equity. The Deal Finance team at EY consists of a strong team of individuals with diverse personal and professional backgrounds, bringing experience from finance functions, consulting and transactions across a range of industry sectors. This rapidly growing team supports CFOs and finance functions through periods of change, with a focus on finance transformation, performance improvement and value creation, including in a transaction context. We are expanding our Deal Finance team, providing exciting opportunities for those dedicated to delivering client value. Our team works across all of EY, drawing on the best and most relevant expertise for our clients. Your key responsibilities As a Manager, you will take responsibility for core elements of client delivery and, depending on the engagement, support or lead the engagement team. You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders, structure complex problems and turn analysis into practical recommendations. You will also contribute to business development, including developing propositions, pitches and presentations. Some engagements will take place in a transaction environment and may involve compressed M&A timeframes, alongside a broader portfolio of finance consulting work. You will be part of a team that: Advises CFOs and finance leaders on finance strategy, operating models, performance improvement and the priorities that arise through business change. Helps clients plan and deliver finance transformation, including improvements to processes, organisation, governance, data, reporting and technology. Supports transaction-related finance challenges, including operational due diligence, integration, separation, change of ownership and value creation, with work such as P&L optimisation, maturity assessments, and designing scalable or lower-cost operating models. To qualify for the role, you should bring: Relevant experience from at least one of the following backgrounds: (1) a finance role, such as FP&A, Financial Control, Commercial Finance, Operational Finance, Finance Business Partnering or a CFO team; (2) management consulting, ideally focused on finance transformation, operating models, performance improvement or value creation; or (3) a transaction environment, such as integration, separation, operational due diligence or deal-related value creation. A recognised accountancy qualification, such as ACA, CIMA or an internationally recognised equivalent. Strong analytical, communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients at different levels. Experience of helping to shape and deliver change, whether in industry, consulting or a transaction setting. The following experience would be helpful, but is not essential: Experience working on transactions or in a deal-related environment. Experience balancing priorities and delivering high-quality work to challenging deadlines. The ability to support clear, evidence-based decision making. Experience managing, coaching or developing team members. The ability to structure analysis, draw out insights and communicate practical recommendations. Commercial curiosity and a commitment to continued learning. What we are looking for We are looking for thoughtful, collaborative and commercially curious people who enjoy solving complex problems and helping clients achieve practical outcomes. You may have developed your experience in a finance function, in consulting or through transactions. We value different perspectives and career paths, and we encourage you to apply even if your experience does not match every point listed above. The role involves working flexibly across a range of client engagements in the UK and, where relevant, globally.
