Job Description The Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment) assures the quality of rotating equipment on our client Project, from EPC procurement documents through vendor manufacturing, site installation and commissioning. Job title Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment) Function Project QA/QC — technical support Reports to Senior QA/QC Engineer Location Office / site based Start date Immediate, subject to MMA approval and onboarding Duration To be advised Purpose of the role Provide owner-side technical and quality oversight of the EPC contractor's rotating equipment scope. The engineer reviews and approves contractor and vendor deliverables, monitors manufacturing, and verifies that installation and commissioning comply with project specifications. Key responsibilities Review and approve EPC contractor procurement documents, vendor data sheets and technical specifications for rotating equipment. Monitor vendor manufacturing activities and participate in FAT and SAT as required. Ensure compliance with project specifications during site installation and commissioning. Coordinate with the EPC contractor to resolve technical queries. Verify implementation of corrective and preventive actions for quality issues. Review and approve relevant quality documentation. Qualifications and experience Education BSc or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline from a recognized institution Experience Minimum 15 years on major oil and gas projects Technical expertise Proven expertise in rotating equipment, packages and HVAC across procurement, engineering quality, site installation, inspection and commissioning Knowledge Strong knowledge of EPC contractor deliverables review, vendor document approval and site construction quality oversight Key interfaces Senior QA/QC Engineer (line manager) EPC contractor engineering, procurement and construction teams Equipment vendors and manufacturers Job Post Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment) Bureau Veritas is hiring a senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment) to join the owner's QA/QC team on a major methanol project in the UAE. Start is immediate, subject to client approval and onboarding. The role You will report to the Senior QA/QC Engineer and own the quality oversight of rotating equipment from vendor documents to commissioning.
