Job description

The Opportunity We're hiring a senior engineer to build the software and AI workflows that run Workstreet. This is an AI-native engineering role. Nearly all of the code you ship will be written with AI. Your job is to understand systems deeply enough to direct that work: design the architecture, give agents the right context and constraints, and put the guardrails, reviews, and tests in place so that what ships is secure, reliable, and correct. Because you'll be working with AI, we care less about which languages and frameworks you've used and more about how well you understand the engineering concepts underneath them. This is the first role of its kind here. We don't have a traditional product or engineering organization. You'll have substantial autonomy, work directly with the people using what you build, and help decide which problems to solve and how to solve them. The backlog is long, and we move fast. We ship daily. You should be comfortable taking a well-scoped feature from idea to production in hours and owning what happens after it ships. What You'll Do Architect, then direct. Design systems and features, break them into clear tasks, and guide AI agents to build them across interfaces, APIs, databases, integrations, and infrastructure. Build guardrails that make AI-written code trustworthy. Set up the testing, security review, and verification practices that let us move fast without compromising quality. That matters a lot at a security company. Turn business problems into useful software. Work with teammates to understand their workflows, define the problem, and ship something they can use. Improve it based on their feedback. Automate repetitive work. Find manual processes worth improving and build the tools, integrations, and AI workflows to improve them. Own your work in production. Make sound decisions about security, reliability, and maintenance. When something breaks, investigate it and fix it. Shape how we build. Define our technical approach, development practices, and use of AI as the tools and our needs evolve. Who You Are You're all in on AI-driven development. You write code with AI as a matter of course, not as an occasional assist. You see it as the way software gets built now, and you're excited about what it makes possible. You think like an architect. You understand how components, data, and workflows fit together, and you can turn an ambiguous problem into a clear plan with the right context, constraints, and checks. You're language- and framework-agnostic. You have strong command of programming fundamentals and can work productively in whatever stack fits the problem, including ones you haven't used before. You know when the AI is wrong. You can explain every line you ship, spot flawed output, debug it, and step in directly when needed. You're a senior engineer who ships. You have a track record of building and operating useful software, and can point to work you owned from idea through production. You're motivated by what you build. You care most about the outcome: a working product that people use. Handcrafting every line isn't the point for you. You instinctively automate tedious work. When a task repeats, you look for a practical way to make it easier. You work well with autonomy. You make decisions, communicate tradeoffs, and move work forward without waiting for a detailed ticket or a meeting. What we offer Career Development : Clear path with mentorship and training opportunities. Role-Related Training: Reimbursement for the successful completion of approved training and certification courses relevant to your current role. Competitive Compensation: A competitive base salary with regular performance reviews linked to merit-based appraisals and bonus opportunities. Growth Opportunity : Early-stage company with significant room for career advancement. Remote-First Culture : Flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating with a global team. What you'll need to thrive Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with candidates, hiring managers, and business leaders across global teams. A reliable, high-speed internet connection and a professional home office environment that supports confidential conversations, virtual interviews, and uninterrupted collaboration. Willingness and ability to travel locally for occasional onsite meetings, team gatherings, or business activities as needed. Hiring and Selection Process Candidates must participate in live video interviews throughout the hiring process with camera on (non-negotiable) and be prepared to verify their identity during recruitment and onboarding. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of identity verification and background screening, where permitted by law. Selected candidates will participate in structured interviews with hiring managers and cross-functional stakeholders to assess role fit, experience, and alignment with Workstreet’s operating principles. Candidates will receive prompt updates and consistent communication throughout the interview process, ensuring a transparent, smooth, and engaging experience at every step. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future. Workstreet does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship or transfers for this role, including H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1 (OPT/CPT), J-1, or any other work-authorized visa category.
