Every day, our people imagine better ways to serve a world in motion – creating smarter, safer, and more sustainable solutions for our customers. YOUR ROLE As an Ocean Transport Coordinator in our Air & Ocean team, you will coordinate the transport and delivery requirements of ocean import shipments from cargo availability through to final delivery. Reporting to the Ocean Operations and Transport Manager, you will work closely with operations, customs, offshore processing teams, customers and transport providers to keep shipments moving safely, compliantly and cost-effectively. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? Specifically, you will: Coordinate ocean import transport and delivery requirements from cargo availability and release through to final delivery, in line with customer requirements and agreed service levels. Coordinate customs and biosecurity entry preparation and cargo-release requirements with offshore processing teams, customs teams and other stakeholders, escalating holds, inspections or documentation issues as required. Arrange cartage and delivery activities with transport providers, depots, warehouses and other service partners, confirming delivery timing, equipment and operational requirements. Maintain accurate shipment, delivery, milestone and Proof of Delivery information within freight management systems and electronic document repositories. Monitor cargo availability, release status and delivery commitments, proactively managing exceptions and helping minimise avoidable storage, detention, demurrage and other additional costs. Liaise with customers, shipping lines, co-loaders, customs teams, transport providers and internal stakeholders to provide timely updates and resolve operational issues. Ensure transport and cargo-release activities comply with applicable Australian Border Force, biosecurity, Dangerous Goods, road transport and CEVA operational requirements. Identify opportunities to improve transport coordination processes, data quality, service performance and operational efficiency. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Our ideal candidate has relevant experience in ocean freight, freight forwarding, transport coordination or a related logistics environment, with demonstrated experience coordinating import deliveries through to final delivery. You will be organised, customer-focused and comfortable managing multiple shipments and competing operational priorities. You will also have: Sound knowledge of ocean freight and transport coordination processes, including Australian customs and biosecurity requirements relevant to imported cargo. Working knowledge of Incoterms, ocean import documentation, transport documentation and Proof of Delivery processes. Experience using freight management systems to maintain accurate shipment, milestone and delivery information. Strong customer service, stakeholder management and communication skills, with practical problem-solving capability and close attention to detail. In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
