Office Manager (4 days, part time)

Job description
About Brighte
Our mission is to make consumer energy resources (CER) affordable and accessible for everyone.
Brighte is building the platform to enable and accelerate the energy transition by making it affordable, easy and less risky to buy and sell energy equipment.
Our founder and CEO, Katherine McConnell, has been awarded Telstra Businesswoman of the Year in 2020 as well as winning the Sustainability Crusader award at B&T's 2023 Women Leading Tech Awards. She is a passionate and humble leader who has a human-first approach to business.
As a business in 2025, we have been named an AFR Sustainability Leader within the Banking and Finance category, and won the inaugural Sustainability Award at the Affies in 2024!
About the Role
This is a part-time, in-office position, where your presence is required four days a week, Monday to Thursday, up to 30 hours - with the flexibility to start late or finish early to suit you.
As our Office Manager, you're the heartbeat of the office and the person who keeps the space running, the events landing, and the people connected. You'll own how it feels to walk through our doors, from a spotless, welcoming space to the weekly rituals and big-moment events that bring our culture to life. If you love creating environments where people genuinely want to show up, this one's for you!
What You'll Do
- Run Brighte HQ day to day. Be the go-to for all things office, keeping the space safe, welcoming, presentation-ready and unmistakably Brighte.
- Own facilities, supplies and budgets. Manage building management, contractors and service providers, and keep stock and spend well under control.
- Bring the office to life. Deliver our weekly rituals (Tasty Tuesday lunches, Thursday socials, All Hands) plus company-wide events end to end, from concept to run sheet.
- Make people feel seen. Run our recognition programs (Brighte Stars, milestones and anniversaries) so the moments that matter land right on time.
- Deliver a standout day one. Own the in-office onboarding experience, coordinating Launchpad, welcome packs and IT readiness so new starters feel it from the start.
- Support our Leadership Team. Ad hoc admin, travel and event logistics, meeting coordination and credit card reconciliations.
- Keep us safe and compliant. Coordinate WHS activities, committee meetings, monthly building audits and documentation.
- Connect us across borders. Partner with teams in Australia and the Philippines to deliver one consistent, connected employee experience.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience running an office or workplace. You're the person who makes a space work.
- Exceptional organisation. You juggle competing priorities, sweat the details, and get things over the line.
- A people-first, hospitality mindset. You create environments people want to be part of.
- Strong vendor, procurement and budget management skills.
- A knack for event planning, from weekly rituals to company-wide moments.
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI. You use it to work smarter, automate the admin, and free yourself up for the human stuff.
- WHS awareness (or the appetite to learn) is a plus.
What's in it for you?
- Free lunch! Yes, there is such a thing. Tasty Tuesday means lunch on us and great company. From tacos, to sushi, to charcoal chicken, it's a delicious way to catch up, unwind and connect.
- Get social. We host a range of social activities at Brighte. A fan-favourite being our weekly Thursday social event, where you can catch up with colleagues over a drink, snack and a game of table tennis.
- Share in our success. You'll be given the opportunity to join our Employee Share Option Plan (ESOP).
- Snacks galore, who doesn't love that? Our thoughtfully stocked pantry includes snacks to suit your every mood, plus a curated collection of wines and beer on tap for those looking to unwind or enjoy a social moment.
- End-of-trip facilities. Cycle in to work, lock up your wheels and shower in our end-of-trip facilities, complete with towel service and hair dryers.
- Anniversary leave. Your dedication won't go unnoticed, enjoy an extra day to celebrate your work anniversary with us.
Diversity and Inclusion
At Brighte, diversity isn't just something we talk about, it's something we live every day. We believe that innovation thrives when people feel empowered to bring their whole selves to work. Our inclusive culture is built on respect, collaboration, and the celebration of individuality.
Named LinkedIn's #10 Top Australian Start Up (2021), we know we wouldn't be anywhere without our investors, who believe in our mission and the opportunities that lie ahead for a brighter future.
Airtree Ventures, Grok Investments, Kim Jackson and Scott Farquhar's Skip Capital, and Qualgro Partners all continue to support Brighte in making this dream a reality!

Our Hiring Process — what to expect?
At Brighte, we use AI every day, and we hire people who do too. We're looking for people who have lived or are living the AI transformation and will bring that thinking to how they work. That's why all roles include an assessment designed to see how you put AI to work. There's no right tool (we use Claude, but you can use whatever you're most comfortable with), and there's no trick to it — we want to see how you think. We'll talk about this in more detail if you're invited to a phone screen with our Talent team.
Towards the end of our hiring process, we require all candidates to undertake references and background checks, which include a police check, anti-money laundering and bankruptcy checks.
