Our Organization and Mission: The Division of Professions is responsible for the licensing of over 503,000 professionals. These professions include architects and interior designers, asbestos consultants, athlete agents, auctioneers, barbers, building code administrators and inspectors, community association managers, construction contractors, cosmetology, electrical contractors, employee leasing companies, geologists, home inspectors, landscape architects, mold assessors and remediators, pilot commissioners and veterinarians. Housed within the division is the Bureau of Education and Testing and the Florida Building Commission. The Work You Will Do: This position is located in the Construction Industry Licensing Board, under the Florida Homeowners Construction Recovery Fund (Recovery Fund) work unit and is primarily responsible for processing claims and maintaining claim files. Your Specific Responsibilities: Performs reviews of claims submitted for payment from the Recovery Fund. Ensures that all requirements for approval of claims are met by the claimant. Proactively communicates with claimants by telephone, written correspondence, and e-mail regarding the status of claims and any deficiencies which must be addressed and corrected. Maintains and updates comprehensive claims files in an organized, chronological and timely manner. Assists in handling mail functions, including receiving, sorting, scanning, and uploading for the board office. Tracks assigned claims and updates the status for assigned claims in the single licensing system (Versa: Regulation) as well as in the agency's document retention management system (OnBase). Scans and indexes claim documents into OnBase and answer incoming telephone calls and handles appropriately. Performs other related duties assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks. Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written. Knowledge of board functions and licensure procedures. Ability to work independently on recommendations and improvements to program. Ability to understand and apply the Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code pertaining to the Florida Homeowners’ Construction Recovery Fund. Knowledge of Versa: Regulation and OnBase. Minimum Requirements : Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education. Preferred: Two or more years using Microsoft Office Suite.
