At Tarmac , we're looking for a talented payroll professional to lead a business-critical Payroll Benefits in Kind (PBIK) implementation programme. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile project, working across Payroll, Reward, Finance, HR and IT to ensure compliance with HMRC requirements and deliver lasting business change. What You'll Be Doing As Payroll Manager, you'll act as the business lead and subject matter expert for the implementation of Payroll Benefits in Kind within Tarmac's existing SAP ECC Payroll environment. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the end-to-end Payroll Benefits in Kind implementation programme Acting as the payroll SME, providing expert guidance on payroll, benefits and HMRC compliance requirements Gathering, documenting and validating business requirements across Payroll, Reward, Finance and HR teams Partnering with IT and third-party providers throughout design, configuration and build phases Managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution and business sign-off Delivering programme governance, stakeholder reporting and RAID management Driving business readiness and ensuring a successful implementation ahead of the April 2027 deadline What We're Looking For We're seeking a confident payroll leader who can combine technical expertise with exceptional stakeholder management skills. You'll bring: Significant UK payroll management experience Demonstrable knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC compliance Proven SAP ECC Payroll expertise and implementation experience Experience delivering payroll legislation changes, transformation programmes or PBIK projects Excellent project delivery, business analysis and testing experience Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills A proactive, analytical and solution-focused approach Desirable: CIPP membership Previous experience leading complex payroll change programmes within large organisations Why Join Tarmac?
