Job description

As we continue to build our team in New Zealand, we currently seek a Project Engineer to be based in Christchurch. Reporting to the Project Manager, the key responsibilities of this position include: Identify and manage project resources, including materials handling equipment, for optimum productivity and assist Project Manager during start up to acquire resources. Liaise with design consultants and coordinate subcontractors to ensure efficiency, quality and productivity. Prepare and monitor project management plans, systems and registers. Establish and monitor quality controls as per specifications and project management plans. Assist with cost management and reporting including preparation of project reports. Assist the Site Manager with medium term planning and programming. Assist with any health and safety incident and compliance reports, in accordance with the contractual requirements, government legislation and BESIX Watpac policies and procedures. The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience: Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or a recognised equivalent. Demonstrated experience in a similar role on commercial building projects. Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business. Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
