Basic Job Functions: Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking qualified applicants for a Sales Associate . The successful candidate will learn all aspects of the Sales Associate responsibilities, assist the commercial department with various administrative tasks, manage customer accounts, and assist our team with making strategic decisions by providing market & customer-related research and analysis. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, answering incoming phone calls for the Commercial Department, generating daily/weekly sales and marketing reports, setting up customer visits, and serving as a primary backup for any of the Inside Sales staff positions as needed. The role requires versatility in handling customer service needs, sales support, and claims management, contributing to the overall success of the commercial team.The Sales Associate will work in-person Monday through Friday and must be able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Key responsibilities include: Performing administrative tasks for the Commercial Department, including answering incoming calls, generating daily/weekly sales and marketing reports, setting up customer visits, and maintaining accurate records. Serving as a primary backup for the Inside Sales Representatives as needed, including entering accurate orders, managing customer accounts, and providing responsive service with an emphasis on commercial excellence. Proactively solving problems and ensuring effective communication between customers and internal teams (operations, shipping, credit, metallurgy). Coordinating efforts to resolve claims with customers, metallurgists, sales, and accounts receivable teams, and working with field claim buyers to resell claimed material while maximizing profitability. Supporting the team by conducting market and customer research, analyzing market trends, customer requirements, and demand signals, and delivering reports and recommendations to inform strategic commercial decisions. Building strong teammate and customer relationships and supporting other Commercial team members when required. Nucor Steel West Virginia's is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S., Nucor Steel West Virginia will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree (Business, Marketing, or related study) or equivalent experience One (1) year of experience in sales or marketing Preferred Qualifications: • 4- year degree in Business Administration or related field. • Familiarity with the manufacturing process, product characteristics and customer base • Knowledge of basic accounting • Market research & data analytics experience.
