The Security Operations Manager is responsible for delivering the safe and secure campus plan ensuring the safety and security of the buildings and people at the University. They will provide leadership and direction of the dedicated security team ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, university policies and security Local Operating Procedures.
Key Responsibilities include
Lead a security team and shift supervisors in delivering 24/7/365 operations ensuring appropriate staffing levels are available.
Take a key role during emergencies and critical incidents, including escalation and liaison with emergency services
Oversee incident management systems, ensuring accurate reporting, investigations, and evidence handling (CCTV and statements)
Support safeguarding, welfare incidents, and major university events (e.g. Open Days, Graduations, protests)
Ensure compliance with university policies and statutory requirements, and support staff performance, training, and development
Excellent customer service, high levels of initiative, attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task are essential elements of this role.
This is a campus- based post, required to work university core hours with some weekend work required.
