Senior Consultant Who we’re looking for We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join Schroders’ Business Transformation Solutions (BTS) team. This is an opportunity to work as a trusted internal adviser, supporting senior stakeholders and business leaders to design and deliver strategic transformation across Public Markets, Private Assets and Wealth Management. You will bring strong consulting, analytical and problem-solving skills, together with the ability to work confidently across complex and ambiguous assignments. You will be comfortable managing workstreams independently, engaging with senior stakeholders and translating strategic objectives into practical recommendations and delivery plans. The team Schroders has launched a bold three-year transformation roadmap focused on returning to profitable growth through three strategic objectives: Simplify, Scale and Deliver. The programme is reshaping the firm’s operating model across Public Markets, Private Assets and Wealth Management. Business Transformation Solutions is Schroders’ centre of excellence for internal consulting. The team works across business functions to support strategic design and mobilisation, helping to deliver Schroders’ transformation targets and objectives. BTS partners closely with the Executive Committee and functional leaders to shape and support Schroders’ transformation roadmap. The team helps drive profitable growth, simplification and innovation by designing and mobilising a future-proofed operating platform. BTS senior consultants are trusted advisers who bring a structured approach to strategy elicitation, design thinking and transformation delivery. The team’s impact is measured through programme success, stakeholder feedback, commercial outcomes and continuous innovation. The team’s core consulting capabilities include: Strategic elicitation and design. Business model and operating model design. Impact assessment. Transformation roadmap development. Business case development. Delivery mobilisation. What you'll do As a Senior Consultant in the BTS team, you will: Support the delivery of specific workstreams or smaller consulting assignments across investment management, personal wealth and private equity, with increasing levels of autonomy. Lead project deliverables, independently managing scope, timelines and quality while ensuring alignment with project objectives. Design and lead analysis, research and problem-solving activities to develop insights and recommendations. Provide guidance and quality assurance to junior team members where appropriate. Manage stakeholder interactions relating to assigned deliverables, ensuring high-quality outputs and effective engagement. Mentor and support junior colleagues, sharing guidance and best practice. Contribute to thought leadership, knowledge-sharing initiatives and the development of the team’s service model, methodologies and solutions. Help design and implement solutions for stakeholders, applying industry expertise and analytical skills. Move flexibly between strategic design and hands-on delivery support, adapting your approach to the needs of each assignment. Champion the client perspective and incorporate outside-in thinking to strengthen recommendations and solutions. Build productive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and external partners. You may work on assignments including: Corporate development: Integration planning, post-merger transformation, due diligence, synergy assessments and operating model design for acquired businesses. Public Markets: Target operating model frameworks, foundational design documents, implementation roadmaps, governance materials and business cases. Private Assets: AIFM simplification, functionalisation of acquired entities, office closure business cases and delivery planning. Wealth Management: Operational migrations, use of shared services and technology, client onboarding, digital reporting and wealth platform transformation roadmaps. The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need Five to seven years’ experience in a consultancy role or as a high-performing analyst, preferably within investment management, personal wealth or private equity. A proven track record of delivering or leading significant project workstreams in a consulting environment. Experience of working on large-scale transformation programmes. Demonstrable experience in business case development, structured impact assessment and translating analysis into actionable recommendations. A strong understanding of the investment management value chain, including front, middle and back-office functions. Experience across a range of investment products and client operating models would be advantageous. Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members. Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to develop productive relationships across an organisation . A bachelor’s degree with a 2:1 classification or above. The knowledge, experience and qualifications that’ll help Experience working within investment management, wealth management or private equity. Experience in business model or operating model design. Experience developing transformation roadmaps and mobilising delivery. Experience working with senior stakeholders, including executive or functional leadership teams. Experience contributing to thought leadership, intellectual capital or internal consulting methodologies. Professional qualifications such as CFA, CIMA or IMC. An understanding of regulatory, operational and technology considerations within financial services.
