We are looking for a **Senior Data Engineer** to build and run the pipelines and platforms that move our customers' data: from source systems to the warehouse, on production systems with real consequences. We also encourage the use of AI to support data engineering and related activities. We believe that sound judgment, problem-solving, collaboration, and accountability remain essential to a successful performance, with or without AI. National and international expected traveling time varies according to project/client and organizational needs: 0%-15% estimated. ## Requirements **🌿** What we expect from you... - Strong hands-on experience with **Python and SQL**, using both in production environments. - Experience building **batch and streaming pipelines** from databases, event streams, and APIs. - Solid production experience in **AWS** (GCP and Azure are a plus) - Experience with **data orchestration tools** like Airflow, Dagster, Azure Data Factory, or similar engines. - Good knowledge of **CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code**, using tools such as Git, GitHub Actions, Terraform and Docker. - Experience with automated testing, monitoring, alerts and troubleshooting to ensure pipelines run reliably and recover from failures. - Ability to manage data contracts with upstream teams, managing schema drift, and handling data access and lineage. - Regular use of **AI developer tools**, with the ability to validate, review and ensure the quality of AI-generated code. - Experience with **Snowflake and dbt**, including data transformation and modelling (Dimensional or Data Vault). - Hands-on experience with distributed **data processing and streaming** technologies, such as Spark, PySpark, Databricks, Kafka, Kinesis or Google Pub/Sub. - Awareness of GDPR, NoSQL databases (MongoDB), and marketing/CRM APIs are a plus. - **Fluent English** for technical and non-technical communication. ## Benefits **🎊 What’s in it for You?** We work in **Self-organization** culture and therefore we offer a flexible, supportive environment where you are trusted to manage your own time and career. - **Well-being First:** health insurance and "Open Holidays" because we trust you to know when you need a break. - **Flexible Working hours and Work:** Work from our vibrant hubs in Porto, Aveiro, or Coimbra, or choose a remote setup that works for you.
