This role develops, plans and executes test programs, analyzes results, and provides recommendations to improve product reliability and durability. Working closely with customers and engineering teams, the engineer solves complex durability challenges using advanced laboratory testing techniques.As a Senior Durability Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:Leading advanced durability and reliability test programs focused on road load simulation, fatigue life assessment, structural durability, vibration, and failure analysis of vehicles, systems, and componentsPlanning, developing, and executing accelerated durability tests using multi-axis road simulators, hydraulic test systems, servo-hydraulic equipment, and custom laboratory test fixturesCoordinating the use of engineering support staff, technicians, instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and laboratory resources to successfully deliver customer programs on schedule and within budgetPreparing quotations, developing test plans, instrumenting test articles, conducting data acquisition, monitoring durability tests, performing damage correlation and fatigue analysis, preparing technical reports, and presenting engineering findings and recommendations to customersDeveloping test correlations between proving ground, field, and laboratory environments using road load data, fatigue theory, and predictive durability methodologies to accurately reproduce real-world damageAs a Senior Durability Project Engineer, you will need:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of testing experienceValid driver's license and good driving recordStrong project management, customer communication, and technical presentation skills with the ability to manage multiple customer programs simultaneouslyExperience with durability test control and data acquisition software such as MTS RPC Pro, RPC Connect, nCode, Siemens TestLab, NI LabVIEW, or equivalent engineering analysis toolsExperience with durability, fatigue, structural dynamics, vibration, and accelerated life testing methodologiesKnowledge of road load data acquisition, road load replication (RLDA), fatigue analysis, and damage correlation techniquesAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization and present technical information clearlyExperienced multi-tasker and team player with excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and writtenA successful candidate may also have:Understanding of Suspension and Chassis systems engineeringExperience operating and conducting tests on multi-axis road simulators, servo-hydraulic test systems, durability rigs, four-post shaker systems, Kinematics & Compliance (K&C) machines, environmental chambers, or chassis dynamometersWorking knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA), stress analysis, fatigue life prediction, and structural durability principlesExperience performing root cause failure investigations and developing engineering recommendations to improve product durability and reliabilityExperience instrumenting vehicles and components using strain gauges, accelerometers, displacement transducers, load cells, pressure transducers, and thermocouplesOur full-time benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, earned sick time, STD, LTD, 401K, tuition reimbursement, employee referral bonuses, paid vacation, and paid holidays.To apply, please visit the Roush careers page by clicking on this link: https://roush.applytojob.comVisit our website:  www.roush.comLike us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/RoushCareersRoush is an EO employer – Veterans/Disabled and other protected categoriesIf you need a reasonable accommodation for our employment application process due to disability, please contact Roush Talent Acquisition at 734-779-7087.#LI-DNI#JT
