Job Description: This position offers the opportunity to shape leading-edge data-center networking platforms and work directly with strategic customers on complex, high-value designs. You will combine system architecture, customer advocacy and hands-on laboratory work across Ethernet switching, timing and synchronization, PCIe connectivity, network-interface and management-controller solutions. More details on the expectations and responsibilities in this position: Own technical engagement for selected strategic and key accounts, building trusted relationships with customer architects, hardware, software and validation teams. Proactively identify customer requirements, risks and support gaps; define action plans, maintain clear ownership and drive technical issues, escalations and commitments to timely closure. Promote and architect Microchip networking solutions for data-center platforms, translating system requirements into appropriate Ethernet switch, PHY, network-interface, timing and connectivity solutions. Support the complete customer design cycle, including architecture reviews, schematic reviews, device configuration, board bring-up, interoperability testing, validation, debug and production readiness. Configure and validate complex Ethernet switch profiles, including VLANs, quality of service, traffic management, redundancy, security, TSN and precision timing functions. Develop and execute laboratory demonstrations and proofs of concept that integrate switches, NICs, management interfaces, PCIe-connected devices, firmware and software in Linux-based systems. Work closely with internal applications, product, software, sales and marketing teams, providing concise status, technical evidence and customer priorities to accelerate resolution and design wins. Deliver customer and channel-partner technical training, workshops and product demonstrations. Travel within Israel as required to support customer engagements, design reviews and laboratory activity. #LI-LI1 Requirements/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering or a closely related discipline; an advanced degree is advantageous. Minimum 10 years of relevant applications engineering, systems engineering or hardware/software design experience, including substantial customer-facing support for complex semiconductor or networking solutions. Demonstrated experience supporting strategic or key accounts through architecture, design, bring-up, validation, escalation and production phases. Competencies Deep knowledge of Ethernet switching and networking. Hands-on expertise with TSN, PTP, transparent clocks and relevant timing profiles. Proven ability to create, manage, deploy and debug Ethernet switch profiles and configurations. Experience with high-speed board design and debug. Working knowledge of PCI Express architecture, enumeration, switches, endpoints, NIC integration and Linux drivers; practical PCIe laboratory and troubleshooting experience is desirable. Experience with USB and PCIe-USB bridge devices is advantageous. Strong hands-on laboratory skills, including board bring-up, validation planning, protocol analysis, fault isolation and evidence-based problem reporting. Familiarity with embedded Linux, firmware, drivers, boot flows and collaboration across hardware, software and validation teams. Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for engineering and business audiences.
