Senior Flooding Engineer (with PM exp)

As a Senior Flooding Engineer, your impact will be within our Victorian operations. The Flooding team delivers a wide variety of projects from small scale impact assessment to catchment wide mapping studies. Some of the focus areas include hydrologic analysis (catchment rainfall / runoff mainly using RORB) and hydraulic (1D and 2D) flood modelling (mainly using TUFLOW); flood risk and impact assessment; flood emergency response; dam break analysis and development of flood overlays for Planning Schemes. This is an opportunity to work within a passionate and well-established team to deliver innovative solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects - locally and nationally! You will be responsible for: Developing and reviewing hydraulic, hydrological models and calculations for application in flood studies, flood impact assessments and flood management plans. Managing a range of large government and private sector flood mapping projects projects involving direct client liaison, attending meetings, preparation of progress updates and data collation. Leading, mentoring and teaching graduate and engineer level team members as they work on your projects. Preparing and reviewing technical reports. Ideally, you will have a minimum of 5+ years’ professional experience with demonstrated technical expertise in flooding and stormwater engineering within a consultancy environment. You will also have: Tertiary Engineering degree (Civil, Environmental) CPENG and/or RPEng (Vic) highly desired. Experience working in a consulting environment highly desirable. A good understanding/comprehension of hydrological and hydraulic investigations, particularly utilising TUFLOW and RORB in undertaking flood studies is required. Applicants MUST have demonstrated experience in using and applying RORB and TUFLOW Experience in using WBNM, URBS or HECRAS would be advantageous but is not a firm requirement. Experience in GIS software with a particular focus on QGIS, FME and ArcGIS. Demonstrated project management capability and client relationship management experience. Proven leadership skills and a desire to train, guide and mentor less experienced engineers.
