The Opportunity - Melbourne or Sydney
As one of Australia's leading wealth management and FinTech businesses, we're known for challenging convention, delivering exceptional technology, and creating better outcomes for advisers and investors. Behind that success is a commitment to strong governance, robust oversight, and making investment decisions that put client outcomes first.
We're looking for a Senior Investment Analyst, Operational Due Diligence to join our Investment Governance team on a nine month fixed term contract. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in assessing the operational strength, governance frameworks and risk management practices of the responsible entities, custodians, investment managers and investment products available on the Netwealth platform.
Working closely with the General Manager, Investment Governance, you'll contribute to the governance framework that supports one of Australia's leading investment platforms, helping ensure the investment managers and products available to clients continue to meet Netwealth's high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- You'll conduct operational due diligence assessments across a broad range of investment structures, including traditional, alternative and unlisted investment strategies.
- You'll evaluate governance arrangements, operational capabilities and risk management frameworks, providing independent insights and recommendations that support sound investment oversight.
- You'll maintain ongoing monitoring of responsible entities, custodians and investment managers, identifying material operational changes, emerging risks and areas requiring further review.
- You'll prepare high quality due diligence reports and governance papers for senior stakeholders, investment committees and Boards, helping drive informed decision making across the business.
- You'll also support Netwealth's compliance with relevant ASIC and APRA requirements, including CPS 230, SPS 530 and RG 259, while participating in manager meetings, operational reviews and onsite assessments.
- Through your work, you'll help strengthen governance outcomes and protect the interests of the clients who entrust their investments to our platform.
About You
You're an experienced investment governance, operational due diligence or operational risk professional who enjoys understanding how investment managers and responsible entities operate behind the scenes.
You bring a strong analytical mindset, sound judgement and a structured approach to assessing risk. You're confident engaging with senior stakeholders, asking the right questions and translating complex operational information into clear recommendations and actionable insights.
Your Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Law or a related discipline. CFA or CAIA qualifications will be highly regarded
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in investment due diligence, investment research, operational risk or investment governance
- A strong understanding of responsible entities, custodians, investment managers, governance frameworks and operational risk management practices
- Sound knowledge of the ASIC and APRA regulatory environment relevant to investment managers, responsible entities and platform operators
- Experience preparing reports, recommendations and governance papers for senior stakeholders, investment committees and Boards
- Excellent written, verbal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to assess complex operational environments and conduct detailed reviews
