As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic to elevate the performance and reliability of our utility and production support systems at our Waunakee, WI facility.This is a high-level technical role for a skilled professional who thrives in a regulated manufacturing environment, enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, and takes pride in operational excellence.What You’ll DoAs a Senior Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining the infrastructure that supports manufacturing operations. Your work ensures equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity.Start up, inspect, and maintain utility and production support equipment, performing daily and weekly checks.Diagnose and resolve technical issues, making adjustments and repairs to minimize production impact.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on complex systems including:Solvent recovery and peptone concentration systemsBoilers and water systems (PW/WFI)Freeze dryers and other critical manufacturing equipmentFire and security systemsOperate, maintain, and calibrate controls and instrumentation for mechanical, electrical, and HVAC/refrigeration systems.Conduct system tests and technical analyses to support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex technical challenges.Adhere to regulatory, safety, and quality standards at all times.What Success Looks LikeEquipment and systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.Preventive maintenance is completed accurately and on schedule.Technical issues are resolved proactively, minimizing disruption.Compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and safety standards is consistently achieved.Team members and stakeholders rely on you for advanced technical expertise and problem-solving.What You BringRequiredHigh School Diploma or G.E.D.2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environmentStrong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in at least one area (mechanical systems, HVAC, or refrigeration)Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production and utility equipmentAbility to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 40–50 lbs and working in varied environmental conditionsPreferred:5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated manufacturingTechnical certifications such as ISA, CCST Level 2, Certified Instrumentation Technician, Certified HVAC/Refrigeration Technician, or Licensed Journeyman Electrician1st Class Boiler’s License or Universal Refrigeration LicenseCoursework or technical training beyond high schoolWhy Join SPL?Meaningful work supporting life-saving biologically based therapeutics used worldwideCompetitive compensation package including base salary and recognition programs401(k) with company match to support your long-term financial goalsGenerous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidaysCareer development and leadership growth opportunities within a global biopharmaceutical organizationCollaborative, science-driven culture that values integrity, accountability, and continuous improvementHigh quality of life in Waunakee, WI!
