The Role This is a Senior Project Manager role where the primary focus will be to work on projects and bids associated with the Maritime Operation Training Environment capabilities being delivered by the Combat, Communications and Information Systems (CCIS) IDT in Maritime business in UK Defence. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing high value and technically complex projects that deliver into Royal Navy staff level training and ship-based staff training programmes. The programmes attract a development pipeline for the IDT which could see the Senior Project Manager working across a variety of research and/or engineering programmes as capabilities extend into the future. Your responsibilities will include: Development and maintenance of positive engagement with project customers, partners and suppliers Operating in a Safe & Secure manner Embedding a culture in line with the QinetiQ values Delivery of the project outputs, to agreed baseline (customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash and sales) Ensuring project members operate in line with the Operating Framework & functional competency management requirements; and have appropriate personal objectives recorded in the QinetiQ performance management system Resolving conflicts (including prioritisation calls) within the project and collaborating across QinetiQ Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager : Experience gained, typically rather than necessarily, between 3-5 years of leading a business, projects, programmes, portfolios or P3 function and successfully delivering complex projects. Experience delivering projects to 3 different customers Desirable qualifications for the Senior Project Manager : Hold a recognised PM qualification (APM or Prince2) We value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you. This role is 37 hours per week and is based out of our PTP facility on a hybrid working pattern of 3 days per week on average, onsite. PTP Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQ’s key facilities, focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services. It is dedicated to research and development, ensuring that complex systems are designed, integrated, and tested effectively to meet operational requirements. The facility utilises sophisticated modelling and simulation techniques to analyse and predict performance.
