Join a team that empowers divisions across the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) to scope problems, run discovery, and build the confidence to conceptualise their own digital solutions. The Tech Adoption team is a cross-divisional capability that helps MSE teams adopt new ways of working and problem-solving. The team guides stakeholders through structured discovery to properly scope problems and map operational workflows, then rapidly prototypes and tests concepts to validate solutions. The team partners with stakeholders to reach their own conclusions about what's needed and what's possible, with the objective to raise the digital quotient across MSE, building confidence and capability. As a Senior Designer, you will shape and deliver a portfolio of digital, data and AI products that support some of Singapore's most critical sustainability and resilience functions. You will work with engineers, data scientists, operators, regulators and policymakers to solve complex real-world challenges in water, food, environmental and public health domains. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation, ensure market fit, and deliver exceptional value to our customers. [What you will be working on] Navigate ambiguous problem spaces and lead discovery without fully defined briefs Lead service design engagements across MSE Family and Divisions, guiding stakeholders through discovery and problem definition Triangulate insights using secondary research, data sources, and existing organisational knowledge Translate complex problem spaces into clear, actionable problem statements Create quick prototypes to validate concepts and test solutions if necessary Coach stakeholders to develop their own thinking about what is possible, enabling them to run similar sessions independently over time Follow through to ensure recommendations are adopted by various teams Contribute to building reusable frameworks and toolkits that divisions can adopt independently [What we are looking for] Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, Engineering or related field At least 5 years of experience in UX/UI, Product design and/or front-end engineering Strong instincts for discovery: knowing which research methods, data sources, and secondary research to draw on Analytical rigour and attention to operational detail Ability to define success metrics and guide teams in measuring service performance and follow through The flexibility to shift between design and technical work based on your strengths and team needs A mix of UX and front end development skills is highly valued Excellent public speaking and presentation skills Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and guide stakeholders to their own conclusions GovTech is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that values diverse voices and perspectives, as we believe it is key to innovation.
