QA Automation Engineer / Sr. Software Engineer About the Role We are looking for an experienced and driven QA Automation Engineer / Sr. Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will champion product quality by designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automated testing frameworks for web and API services. You will work closely with developers, product managers to embed quality into every phase of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and ensure seamless, bug-free deployments to production. Key Responsibilities 1. Test Automation & Framework Development Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable automation test frameworks for frontend (Web) and backend (RESTful APIs/Microservices). Write clean, maintainable, and efficient test code using Python, or TypeScript/JS . Expand automated test coverage across functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end (E2E) testing suites. Perform integration and API testing across containerized microservice architectures. Monitor test runs, analyze pipeline failures, and optimize test execution time and parallelization. 2. Quality Assurance & Defect Management Participate in product requirement reviews, sprint planning, and design discussions to identify edge cases early. Define comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria in collaboration within team. Log, track, and manage defects using tools like Leiga , driving root-cause analysis (RCA) with development teams. 3. API & Non-Functional Testing Perform backend API contract and payload validation using tools. Execute performance and load testing to evaluate system reliability under peak traffic. Conduct basic database verifications to ensure data integrity. Required Qualifications Experience: 3–6+ years of hands-on experience in software testing, with at least 2+ years dedicated to test automation / SDET work. Programming Skills: Strong programming and scripting skills in at least one modern language: Python or TypeScript/JavaScript . Automation Tools: Web: Proficient with Playwright , Selenium , Cypress or related tools. API: Experience with Requests (Python) , or Postman or related tools. Frameworks: Strong experience with test runners frameworks. DevOps & Tools: Basic working knowledge of Git , Linux/Shell scripting . Language Proficiency: Fluent in Cantonese (for day-to-day team collaboration). Good professional working proficiency in English (written and verbal, capable of participating in global/regional standups and writing technical documentation).
