[What you will be working on] The Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a full-stack role spanning frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure systems using modern web technologies. In this role, you will lead the architecture of key features, manage cloud deployments and CI/CD pipelines, build rapid prototypes, provide production support through troubleshooting and incident resolution, and mentor team members to foster technical excellence and system reliability across cross-functional teams. Architect and ship production-grade features: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality code for live production systems. Drive innovation: Build rapid prototypes and proof-of-concepts to evaluate emerging technologies and identify new product opportunities. Own the DevOps lifecycle: Manage and optimize cloud deployments, infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate and elevate: Share knowledge across disciplines, mentor teammates, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. Ensure system reliability: Provide production support, lead troubleshooting and rapid incident resolution, and maintain overall system stability for the existing platform. [What we are looking for] Core Technical Requirements Full-Stack Professional Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience building scalable end-to-end applications spanning frontend interfaces, backend services, and cloud infrastructure. Front-End Proficiency: Strong experience with React.js, JavaScript / TypeScript (ES6+), CSS and modern front-end development standards. API Architecture: Solid experience designing and maintaining RESTful or GraphQL APIs using Node.js / Golang. Database Management: Working knowledge of relational databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling. Automated Testing: Hands-on experience writing automated unit/integration tests using frameworks such as Mocha, Chai, and Sinon. Preferred & Bonus Experience Backend Versatility: Experience with Go (Golang) for microservices or API development. Modern Tooling: Familiarity with modern build tools such as Webpack and Vite. Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with Docker containerization, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), Terraform, and AWS deployment strategies. E2E Testing: Knowledge of end-to-end testing frameworks such as Playwright and Cypress. Agile Workflows: Prior experience operating within Scrum or Agile team structures. Product-Minded: Passionate about creating intuitive, robust, and user-centric software solutions. Self-Aware & Self-Managing: Able to take full ownership of projects, manage deadlines independently, and drive tasks to completion.
