What’s In It for You Seasonal full-time role from October 2026 to January 2027 Competitive pay starting at $19.54/hour , increasing to $24.42/hour after successful completion of the probationary period Inclusive, empowering, and positive workplace where people are at the heart of everything we do Collaborate with passionate hospitality professionals striving to make the world more welcoming Access to global opportunities through our employee travel and internal transfer programs Complimentary meals during your shift via the Colleague Dining Program Complimentary uniform laundering Opportunity to gain experience in a luxury hotel set within a historic 1939 Vancouver landmark Participate in impactful Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives What You Will Be Doing Provide consistently professional, friendly, engaging, and personalized service to guests throughout the In-Room Dining experience Review and confirm guest orders, ensuring accuracy of items, preferences, dietary requirements, allergies, special requests, and delivery timing Maintain thorough knowledge of In-Room Dining food and beverage offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, accompaniments, and presentation standards Assist guests with menu-related inquiries and provide informed recommendations in a thoughtful and professional manner Coordinate effectively with Culinary, Royal Service, and other relevant colleagues to support timely order preparation and delivery Communicate delays, special requests, order changes, or service concerns promptly to support a seamless guest experience Verify outgoing orders for completeness, accuracy, quality, presentation, and appropriate setup before delivery Prepare trays, tables, and carts with the appropriate china, glassware, flatware, linen, condiments, and other required service items Deliver food and beverage orders to guest rooms safely, efficiently, and professionally while maintaining appropriate food quality and temperature Present and serve orders in accordance with established In-Room Dining and hotel service standards Ensure charges are accurately applied and process guest payments when required Retrieve used trays, tables, carts, dishes, and service items from guest rooms and designated hotel areas and return them to the appropriate location Maintain clean, organized, safe, and properly stocked work and service areas Follow applicable food safety, sanitation, responsible liquor service, workplace health and safety, privacy, security, and hotel procedures Maintain professional appearance, grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards Participate in departmental briefings, meetings, orientation, mandatory training, coaching, and ongoing development Understand and consistently demonstrate applicable Fairmont and Accor service standards, including relevant LQA and Forbes Travel Guide standards Report hazards, incidents, injuries, damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, and security issues through the appropriate channels Support sustainability and waste-reduction practices within the department Perform other duties reasonably assigned that are consistent with the nature, classification, and scope of the position and operational requirements
What We Are Looking For Minimum one year of Food & Beverage service experience Previous luxury hotel, restaurant, In-Room Dining, or similar service experience is an asset Valid Serving It Right certification Valid FoodSafe Level 1 certification, or ability to obtain within the timeframe required by the hotel Previous Point of Sale (POS) system experience is an asset Strong knowledge of food and beverage service and a willingness to maintain current knowledge of menu offerings Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow guest requests and service requirements Highly responsible, reliable, and guest-focused Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team Commitment to Fairmont service standards, food safety, workplace safety, and operational requirements Professional appearance and grooming in accordance with hotel standards Full availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and statutory holidays, based on operational requirements Preference will be given to applicants who can commit to the full duration of the season (October 2026, to January 2027) Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift Frequent bending, reaching, carrying, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movement Ability to safely lift and carry service items and equipment up to 23 kg (50 lb), using appropriate equipment or assistance where required and following safe handling procedures Ability to safely maneuver loaded In-Room Dining trays, tables, and carts Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced food and beverage environment
