Job description

Your role The Site Engineer III (Shift) core responsibility is to perform infrastructure related activities in our Data Centers to ensure a reliable and efficient operation of the technical infrastructure. This is achieved through maintenance, testing and surveillance of all assets installed. The Site Engineer III (Shift) is responsible for the planning and control of all day-to-day maintenance activities in cooperation with the Lead Engineer and provide leadership to the site teams, including project management for maintenance related activities. The Site Engineer III (Shift) role is critical to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and deliver client satisfaction, and when applicable being part of a 7x24 shift rotation. What you’ll do Lead and manage maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities across critical electrical, mechanical, and technical systems Plan, schedule, and oversee day-to-day maintenance activities in collaboration with Site Management and Lead Engineers Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing solutions Lead switching procedures and ensure smooth execution of system changes with minimal disruption to operations Manage incident response, including on-call duties and execution of Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) Ensure compliance with safety standards, approved processes, and regulatory requirements Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of work Maintain and review documentation, including MOPs, Change Requests (CRs), and EOPs, ensuring accuracy and compliance Provide leadership, mentoring, and training to junior engineers, supporting team development and recruitment efforts Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including energy efficiency, operational optimization, and ad hoc infrastructure projects What you’ll need 5+ years of experience in mission-critical operations and maintenance of large-scale electrotechnical and/or mechanical systems. Chargeman A4 license is required. Technical education or certification in mission-critical operations or a related engineering field Vocational training or equivalent experience in a technical or site engineering discipline Strong hands-on experience in maintaining electrical, mechanical, or HVAC systems Familiarity with fire detection and suppression systems (preferred) Basic knowledge of elevators (conveyor systems) and/or security systems (CCTV, access control) Proficiency in using testing and diagnostic equipment Relevant internal or industry certifications (e.g., Digital Realty or equivalent) Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to handle complex technical challenges Proactive, customer-focused mindset with a drive to enhance service delivery Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail Resilience and ability to perform effectively under pressure Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Proven leadership ability, including mentoring, coaching, and guiding technical teams A bit about us Digital Realty brings companies and data together by delivering the full spectrum of data center, colocation and interconnection solutions.
