Job Description: Social Media Manager
Opportunity Education is seeking a full-time Social Media Manager to build and lead our social presence as we launch a new ed tech product in the US and abroad.
This role is responsible for developing our social strategy from the ground up - defining how we show up across platforms, creating content that resonates with educators and students, and building an engaged community around our mission.
What You’ll Do
The Social Media Manager is responsible for the following activities and outcomes:
Execute and Optimize Strategy: Own, implement, and optimize a comprehensive social media strategy aligned to the organization and product launch goals, resulting in follower growth, and increased engagement and brand awareness.
Content Creation & Management: Create, schedule, and publish high-quality content, including short-form video, graphics, and copy, that reflects our brand voice and connects with educators and students.
Community Management: Build and execute community engagement standards by responding thoughtfully to comments, messages, and mentions to build a loyal and active following.
Analytics and Reporting: Define and monitor performance metrics, translating data into clear insights and concrete recommendations that improve content and strategy over time.
Monitor Trends: Stay up-to-date with new social media trends, leveraging opportunities to gain traction and amplify following
Brand Alignment: Ensure all assets are on-brand and consistent with our values, visual identity, messaging, and goals
Collaboration: Collaborate with the product team, marketing team, and others to deliver a strong omnichannel experience for audiences
Paid Media: Recommend paid social campaigns, such as influencer marketing or paid ads, to drive brand awareness and conversion
What You’ll Bring
3+ years of experience managing social media for a brand, product, or organization
Extensive knowledge of current social media platforms (LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to grow an audience and drive engagement across at least two major platforms
Proficiency in content creation tools — including design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud) and video editing apps
Strong copywriting skills with an ability to adapt voice and tone across channels and audiences
Analytical fluency - ability to interpret performance data and turn it into action
Experience working in a remote, collaborative team environment
What You Might Bring
Experience with product launches or building a social presence from scratch
Background in education, ed tech, or mission-driven organizations
Experience managing influencer partnerships or ambassador programs
Experience with paid media campaigns
