Job description

Sr Business Operations Manager Department: GMA Business Operations Location: Søborg, Denmark Your impact begins here As Sr Business Operations Manager, you will help Global Medical Affairs (GMA) leadership make clearer, faster decisions on strategy, budget and priorities. You will advise senior leaders, lead complex projects where the problem is not yet defined, and co-own a key process that GMA teams rely on. Your work turns ambiguity into decisions, so medical affairs colleagues can focus their time and resources where they matter most for people living with serious chronic diseases. What you’ll bring Master’s degree in business, finance, sciences, engineering or a similar field. 5–7 years of relevant experience leading complex, cross-functional strategic projects and owning process improvement in a complex organisation. Experience leading financial planning and budget processes, challenging financial assumptions and aligning Finance and senior stakeholders around priorities and decisions. A proven ability to frame ambiguous problems, influence senior leaders, guide contributors and turn analysis into decisions. Excellent executive communication, strategic judgement and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence without authority and sustain alignment across senior stakeholder groups. Cultural awareness and adaptability, and a collaborative way of coaching colleagues. What you’ll do Your role combines three connected workstreams: partnering with GMA leaders, owning the budget process and leading projects. Together, they help GMA work with more clarity and speed. Advise the head of your assigned GMA area on the annual strategy process and its translation into budget priorities, framing trade-offs and challenging assumptions, dependencies and options. Co-own the budget process area with a team colleague, setting direction for templates, guidance and best practice, and leading adoption across GMA. Lead highly complex and ambiguous strategic projects: frame the problem, define scope and governance, set milestones and risk responses, and deliver on time, within budget and to the required quality. Strengthen governance by clarifying decisions, accountability and follow-up across interdependent work. Turn evidence into concise, data-driven recommendations, and prepare analyses, memos and presentations that shape GMA Leadership Team decisions. Share what you learn, improve common team methods and mentor colleagues, so the team stays resilient and consistent. Who you’ll work with You will join GMA Business Operations in Product & Portfolio Strategy, where colleagues connect commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across therapy areas to help guide the Novo portfolio and strengthen competitiveness. You will report to the Director, GMA Business Operations, and work closely with your team colleagues to ensure success across the unit. Your day-to-day partners include the GMA Leadership Team, leaders and specialists across GMA and medical affairs worldwide, Finance partner, and colleagues in Strategy, Executive Office and PMO functions. You will also have occasional contact with external parties. The role is global in scope, with stakeholders across the world and minimal travel expected. Your influence comes from building trust, creating clarity and aligning functions whose priorities may differ. What you can expect here You will be trusted to define your own approach to complex, unclear assignments, with minimal guidance and room to make your voice heard at senior level. You will grow by working across GMA and supporting functions, learning from colleagues and sharing your expertise through mentoring and strategic sparring. We expect high standards and honest, direct conversations, and we support you to perform at your best. Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600.00 to 1,091,600.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
