SR FIELD APPLICATION ENGINEER

Job Overview The Sr. Field Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and application expertise to customers within the Data Communication market. This role works closely with customers, Account Managers, and cross-functional teams to drive design-in opportunities, support new product development activities, and ensure successful implementation of TE Connectivity solutions. The individual will serve as the key technical interface throughout the product lifecycle, resolving engineering challenges during design, qualification, and mass production phases. Leveraging strong knowledge of connectors, cables, and interconnect solutions, the FAE will identify new business opportunities, present product roadmaps, and deliver innovative solutions that support customer success and business growth. Key Responsibilities Partner with Account Managers to drive design wins and secure TE Connectivity solutions within customer applications. Provide technical support and resolve engineering issues for customers across Server, Storage, Networking, IPC, and Computer Peripheral applications. Manage and respond to customer technical inquiries throughout the product development lifecycle. Collaborate with customers and internal engineering teams to ensure effective technical communication and issue resolution. Support product design-in activities by understanding customer system requirements and recommending suitable solutions. Deliver technical seminars, product presentations, and training sessions to customers. Develop innovative concepts and technical proposals during early-stage customer development discussions. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key customer engineering teams. Support product qualification, validation, and implementation activities. Provide post-production engineering support to ensure customer satisfaction and business continuity. What your background should look like Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field 3-6 years of experience in a customer-facing technical or Field Application Engineering role. Experience in connectors, electronics, or manufacturing industries preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Creo. Strong communication skills in English.Chinese is a plus. Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate within global cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools. Willingness to travel approximately 30% across the region.
