Job description This opportunity is only open to applicants who are currently 'Priority Movers'. Applications from individuals not currently on the Priority Mover list will be rejected and not considered. This post works across a range of corporate legislative programmes in Parliament and Legislation Unit. The post holder will have the opportunity to develop and deepen their knowledge of the legislative and parliamentary processes, build networks across the Scottish Government and beyond and sharpen their skills in relation to Ministerial support, political acuity and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities The main duties of the post are set out below. You will be supported by the C1 team leader and B3 programme manager but will have significant autonomy within that structure: Support delivery of the legislative consent, Scottish SI and UK SI legislative programmes. Manage core programme management information across these programmes. Lead on programme support for specific pieces of legislation within those programmes. Provide advice to officials on legislative and parliamentary procedure. Provide advice to the Minister for Parliamentary Business and Veterans on the programmes and individual pieces of legislation. Engage with the Scottish Parliament and UK Government to secure the Scottish Government’s interests in delivery of these programmes Support delivery of networking and learning sessions for Scottish Government officials involved in these legislative programmes. Contribute to the Unit’s strong commitment to continuous improvement.
Working pattern This role is a permanent level transfer position. Applications for this position will only be accepted from substantive B2 employees.
