Submittal Engineer – Fire & Life Safety Systems Job Summary NAFFCO is seeking a detail-oriented Submittal Engineer – Fire & Life Safety Systems to prepare, review, and manage technical submittals for Fire & Life Safety projects. The successful candidate will ensure all submittals comply with project specifications, applicable codes, client requirements, and regulatory standards while coordinating with internal teams and consultants to obtain timely approvals. Key Responsibilities Prepare and submit technical submittals for Fire & Life Safety Systems, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Review project specifications, drawings, and BOQs to ensure compliance with client requirements. Compile technical data, product catalogues, datasheets, compliance certificates, and supporting documentation for consultant approval. Ensure submittals comply with applicable standards, including NFPA 72, NFPA 101, IEC, UL , and local authority regulations. Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and project teams to resolve technical queries and support material approvals. Track the status of submitted documents, follow up on approvals, and address consultant comments or revision requests promptly. Maintain accurate records of all submittals, approvals, revisions, and document history. Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain technical information and updated documentation when required. Support project execution by ensuring approved materials and systems align with project specifications and schedules. Assist in resolving technical issues related to product approvals and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. 3–4 years of experience in Fire & Life Safety or ELV systems, with hands-on experience in technical submittals and project coordination. Strong knowledge of Fire & Life Safety systems, including: Fire Alarm Systems Voice Evacuation / PAVA Systems VESDA Systems Emergency Lighting Systems (Central Battery & Addressable Self-Contained) Disabled Toilet Alarm (DTA) Systems Familiarity with NFPA 72, NFPA 101, IEC, UL , and local authority requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint . Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams.
