Location: Buford, GA Salary: $80,000 - $100,000+ (DOE) + Discretionary Profit Sharing Bonus + Benefits Benefits: 100% Company-Paid Health Insurance, Holidays, Paid Time Off Job Type: Full-Time | On-site Typical Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week Travel: approximately 25% across US, Mexico, Canada and Brazil; 1-2 weeks training in Japan Start Date: ASAP Sponsorship is not available Technical Service Engineer - Precision Equipment Description Our client in the precision technology and optical component industry is looking for a Technical Service Engineer to add to their team in Buford, GA. In this role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain precision equipment used by customers across the North America and Brazil. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, replace components, calibrate equipment, and verify machine performance after repairs. Our client is looking for someone with hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial, automated, or precision equipment. Direct fiber optics experience is not required, as you will receive product-specific training upon hire, including hands-on training with the engineering team in Japan. You must also be comfortable working directly with customers and traveling. This is an opportunity to help establish the company's U.S.-based repair and after-sales support capability as more equipment service moves closer to customers instead of being handled overseas. As the installed base and service capability grow, the individual’s technical ownership and customer responsibilities will expand. Technical Service Engineer - Precision Equipment Responsibilities • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and process-related equipment issues • Disassemble equipment and replace defective or worn components • Repair motors, wiring, sensors, power supplies, controls, and pneumatics • Align and calibrate precision equipment after repairs • Test equipment and verify proper performance following service • Troubleshoot equipment issues at customer locations • Perform preventive maintenance and replace wear components • Document repairs, maintenance, and customer service activity • Coordinate customer visits and follow up on service needs • Escalate complex technical issues to overseas engineering teams as needed • Identify replacement or upgrade needs and relay opportunities to Sales Technical Service Engineer - Precision Equipment Qualifications • 2+ years of equipment service, maintenance, or technical support experience required • Hands-on electromechanical troubleshooting experience required • Equipment disassembly, repair, alignment, and calibration experience required • Ability to communicate directly with customers regarding equipment issues required • Willingness to travel 25% to US, Mexico, Canada and Brazil + training in Japan required • Valid passport upon hire required
