We’re looking for motivated people who are ready to learn, develop and build a career in the mining industry to join our team as a Trainee Process Operator . This is a 12 month traineeship designed to provide you with hands-on experience, quality training and real-world exposure to mining processing operations. You’ll work alongside experienced Process Operators, developing the skills and knowledge required to operate a processing plant safely and effectively. On successful completion of the traineeship, you’ll have the opportunity to transition into a permanent role with Gold Fields. This position is offered on a 12 month fixed-term contract , working an 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off roster . Why Join Us? Throughout your traineeship, you’ll gain exposure to: Crushers, mills, leach tanks and elution circuits Control room operations and monitoring plant performance Operating mobile equipment including IT loaders, Bobcats and forklifts Taking slurry samples and completing basic process checks Safely handling hazardous reagents and chemicals Assisting with maintenance activities during planned shutdowns Plant cleaning and general housekeeping Computer-based data entry and operational reporting, with training provided Participating in toolbox talks, safety discussions and initiatives that support our strong safety culture This is a hands-on role that involves working outdoors and in all weather conditions, manual tasks and lifting, as well as working at heights. A good level of physical fitness and a commitment to working safely are essential.
