Overview Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date 08/17/2026 for 8 weeks, with guaranteed 48 hours per week on a night shift (3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM). Weekly pay range: $2,028–$2,198 per week. The position is in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting. Key Highlights - Weekly pay: $2,028–$2,198 per week - Guaranteed hours: 48 per week - Contract duration: 8 weeks - Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) - Start date: 08/17/2026 - Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital ER travel assignment - Epic EMR experience required (fast credentialing) Responsibilities - Perform accurate triage assessments and notify the Emergency MD of abnormal signs, symptoms, and vital signs 100% of the time. - Review and complete patient orders in a timely manner; provide medication side effects teaching and include it in discharge instructions. - Recognize symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress and other emergencies; implement appropriate nursing interventions. - Administer medications and IV therapy, manage indwelling catheters and drains, and ensure safe use of equipment used in the ED. - Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage patient care during life-threatening emergencies; advise monitoring as needed. - Participate in Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Activations; maintain legible, accurate, timely documentation in the EMR. Requirements - Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. - Experience: Minimum of 1 year recent acute care experience. - Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license in California; Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 6 months of hire. - Facility/Certifications: BLS certification from approved vendor; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS required; AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS required; Epic EMR experience required. - Additional: Must be able to work night shifts and participate in a travel assignment; strong charting and teamwork skills.
