Overview Registered Nurse – ICU travel assignment in Carbondale, Illinois. Start date: 08/10/2026 for a 13-week assignment. Weekly pay: $2,820-$2,901 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour nights. Setting: hospital-based intensive care unit. This is a travel, temporary assignment sponsored by Healthforce Healthcare LLC. Key Highlights - Weekly pay: $2,820 - $2,901 per week - Guaranteed hours: 36 per week - Contract duration: 13 weeks - Shift: 3x12-hour nights (1900-0730) - Start date: 08/10/2026 - Weekend schedule: every other weekend; no on-call requirements - Work setting: 21-bed general ICU with diverse patient types Responsibilities - Provide bedside nursing care for ICU patients in a 21-bed general ICU, including cardiac, neuro, neurosurgical, post-CV surgery, post-general surgery, medical ICU, and post-trauma cases - Monitor hemodynamic status, administer medications, manage vents and vasoactive infusions, and respond to patient condition changes - Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary team; document care clearly in the electronic medical record; adhere to ICU protocols and safety standards - Perform assessments, develop and execute individualized care plans, and educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and expected outcomes - Maintain infection control practices, turnover procedures, and safety protocols; assist with procedures and respond to emergencies as needed - Hand off accurately at shift change and participate in rounding and bedside rounds to optimize patient outcomes Requirements - Active RN license in Illinois (or eligibility to practice in Illinois) - BLS certification required; ACLS certification strongly preferred/required for ICU practice - ICU or critical care experience in an acute care setting required or strongly preferred - Education: graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred - Ability to work the 1900-0730 night shift and function effectively in a fast-paced ICU environment - Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills Benefits and Support - 24/7 recruiter and travel support - Dedicated support throughout the assignment - Housing assistance (where available) - Extension opportunities - Nationwide travel assignments - Referral bonus opportunities (up to $1,000) Find more opportunities If you’d like to explore other open roles from Healthforce Healthcare LLC, you can view additional postings and apply at https://healthforce.applytojob.com/apply PAY DISCLAIMER Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
