Overview Registered Nurse – Long-Term Care (LTC) | Lewiston, Maine, United States Start date: 08/31/2026 | Duration: 13 weeks | Weekly pay: $1,784–$1,832 per week | Shift: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 pm–7:30 am) | Employment type: Travel - Temporary Assignment This RN role supports three LTC-oriented units within a hospital setting: a 31-bed Alzheimer’s/dementia unit, a 42-bed transitional rehab unit for short-term care, and a 42-bed long-term care unit. The nurse provides direct and indirect care to residents, collaborates with the care team, and helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for aging adults with varying medical needs. Key Highlights - Weekly pay: $1,784–$1,832 per week - Contract duration: 13 weeks - Shift: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 pm–7:30 am) - Start date: 08/31/2026 - Unit mix: Alzheimer’s/dementia care, short-term rehab, and long-term care units - Orientation: Up to 16 hours of orientation (unpaid) - Location: Lewiston, Maine; travel assignment with hospital-based LTC services Responsibilities - Provide direct patient care and indirect support to residents on assigned LTC units, following physician orders and established care plans - Administer medications, manage IV therapies when indicated, and perform routine wound care per protocol - Conduct geriatric assessments, monitor for changes in condition, and respond to clinical alarms and safety concerns - Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (nursing, therapy, social work, dietary, activities) to coordinate care and ensure smooth transitions between care phases - Document care accurately in the chart, communicate effectively with residents and families, and implement care plan updates as needed - Flexibly float to other units as assigned to cover scheduling needs and support 24/7 operations Requirements - Education: Associate degree in Nursing - Licensure: Valid State of Maine RN license or a compact RN license - Experience: 1–3 years of RN experience preferred - Other requirements: Strong medical terminology knowledge; excellent teamwork and communication; ability to work in a 24/7, multi-unit environment; willingness to float to other units as needed - Residency: Candidate must reside outside of a 50-mile radius of the facility location - Note: Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered Benefits and Support - Competitive weekly pay for travel assignments - Dedicated support throughout the assignment - Travel and recruiter support to assist with onboarding and housing logistics - Opportunity to work across multiple LTC units within a hospital setting Find more opportunities If you’d like to explore additional openings, you can view other opportunities available through Healthforce Healthcare LLC at https://healthforce.applytojob.com/apply PAY DISCLAIMER Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
