Overview Registered Nurse | Med Surg | Templeton, California | Travel assignment begins 08/03/2026 for 13 weeks | 36 guaranteed hours per week | Shift: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) | Short-term acute care hospital setting. Requires an active RN license in the practice state and current Basic Life Support (BLS). Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum two years of recent Med/Surg experience. The role focuses on age-specific nursing care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and requires collaboration with the care team to plan and deliver care. Key Highlights - Weekly pay: $1,920–$2,034 per week - Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week - Contract duration: 13 weeks - Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts - Start date: 08/03/2026 - Setting: Short-term acute care hospital medical/surgical unit Responsibilities - Provide nursing care on the medical/surgical unit, including planning, coordination, and delivery of care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients - Execute vital signs, patient monitoring, medication administration, intravenous therapy, and management of blood products - Care for and maintain indwelling catheters and drains; apply sterile technique as required - Operate and monitor routine medical equipment (glucose meters, IV pumps, PCA machines) - Initiate multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans in collaboration with the health care team - Educate patients and families regarding care plans, medications, and discharge instructions; tailor education to age, culture, and learning readiness - Delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel based on competency; supervise and evaluate performance - Demonstrate competency in epidural management, acute post-operative wound care, and assessment of vascular patency Requirements - Active RN license in the state of practice (California) - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor - Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred - Minimum of two years of recent Med/Surg experience - Ability to work night shifts and function effectively on a Med/Surg floor - Proficiency in accommodating adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations - Strong collaboration skills for multidisciplinary team-based care Benefits and Support - 24/7 recruiter and travel support - Dedicated assignment support throughout the contract - Credentialing and onboarding assistance - Weekly pay processing per week Find more opportunities To explore other real openings with Healthforce Healthcare LLC, visit https://healthforce.applytojob.com/apply Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
