Overview Registered Nurse, Operating Room (OR) — San Luis Obispo, CA — Start date 08/17/2026 — 8 weeks — $2,034 to $2,185 per week — Guaranteed 40 hours per week — Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 3x12-hour days — Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital, travel assignment. This perioperative nursing role supports the surgical team by circulating, maintaining patient safety, and coordinating instrument and supply flow throughout procedures. Key Highlights - Weekly pay: $2,034–$2,185 per week - Guaranteed hours: 40 per week - Contract duration: 8 weeks - Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) - Travel assignment in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital - Epic experience required for system access and documentation Responsibilities - Circulate in the Operating Room during surgical procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and patient safety. - Assist surgeons and the anesthesia team, coordinating flow of equipment, supplies, and staff. - Prepare patients for surgery, including proper positioning and monitoring for safety throughout the perioperative period. - Participate in pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care planning and assessment according to department criteria. - Safely handle, dispose of biohazardous materials, and maintain strict infection control standards. - Access and utilize the facility's information systems (EPIC) to retrieve relevant patient data and document care. Requirements - Active RN license in the state of practice (California) or current state of assignment. - Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. - Experience: At least two years of recent nursing experience, including at least one year in the operating room. - Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred; CNOR preferred. - Additional: EPIC experience required; able to work in a fast-paced OR environment; able to fulfill a 12-hour shift schedule.
