Overview Registered Nurse – Short Stay travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date 08/17/2026 for 8 weeks. Guaranteed hours 48 per week with a 3x12-hour day shift schedule. Work in a short-term acute care setting providing pre- and post-operative/procedural care across patient populations from infant to geriatric. Compensation ranges from $1,949 to $2,082 per week. Key Highlights - Weekly pay: $1,949–$2,082 per week - Guaranteed hours: 48 per week - Contract duration: 8 weeks - Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts - Start date: 08/17/2026 - Setting: Short-term acute care hospital, travel assignment - Fast credentialing/onboarding and EPIC backfill support Responsibilities - Provide pre- and post-operative/procedure nursing care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with diverse health care needs - Monitor patient conditions, interpret ECG rhythms, recognize distress, and respond appropriately in emergencies - Deliver targeted education to patients and families before discharge and coordinate discharge planning as part of the care plan - Apply clinical knowledge to post-anesthesia and post-procedure recovery, including assessment, documentation, and collaboration with the care team - Administer medications and manage equipment appropriate to the perioperative and recovery period - Document care in the designated electronic health record (EPIC) and adhere to hospital policies and chain of command Requirements - Active registered nurse license in the state of practice (California) - Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required - Completion of a basic cardiac arrhythmia class with passing score required - Minimum of two years of recent nursing experience in the field; prior med-surg experience in the last two years preferred - Minimum of one year experience in pre- and post-operative diagnostic cath lab preferred - Epic EMR experience required (current Epic experience) - Ability to work in a fast-paced perioperative and recovery environment Benefits and Support - Guaranteed hours and a structured travel assignment - Fast credentialing/onboarding processes to support timely start - Epic EMR backfill support and alignment with clinical workflows - Assignment coordination and ongoing support from Healthforce Healthcare LLC Find more opportunities If you’d like to explore other travel opportunities with Healthforce Healthcare LLC, please visit https://healthforce.applytojob.com/apply to view additional openings and submit your application.
