Does this sound like you? Then join our accomplished team! Your personal sphere of influence: As a University Assistant (prae doc), you will complement the research team of Univ. Prof. Dr. Emmanuella Plakoyiannaki in the area of International Business and take over tasks including research, teaching, funding application writing and third mission activities. The focus of our research is internationalization of Family Firms, SMEs and MNEs. The team draws both on qualitative and quantitative methodological approaches. Our Team in the area of International Business consists of professors, one post doc, and administrative colleagues. We value strong motivation, commitment to teamwork, initiative, proactive engagement, and enthusiasm, as reflected in candidates’ CVs, previous experience, and, where applicable, the interview process. Your future tasks: You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means: You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of International Business including, but not limited to SME, Family Firm and MNE internationalization. We expect you to finalize your PhD dissertation agreement within 12-18 months. You work on your PhD dissertation and its completion. You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration. You actively seek funding opportunities and you engage in funding proposal writing. You lead or support third mission activities of the research group International Business. This is part of your personality: Completed Master's degree in the field of International Business, International Management or the broader area of Management with an international emphasis. Interested in pursuing research in the area of International Business. Basic experience in academic writing and with research methods (e.g. relevant training. academic publications) Excellent command of written and spoken English (C1 Level), futhermore good command of German is desirable but not a prerequisite. IT user skills: MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Knowledge of software packages for qualitative (e.g. Atlas.ti, Nvivo) and quantitative (e.g. SPSS, R) data analysis is an advantage. Desireable knowledge includes both qualitative and quantitative research methods. You should be a team player with high social skills, proactive, motivated, committed, hard-working, intellectually curious and focused on delivering high quality contents. The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.
