Job description
At Beauty Pie, we don’t believe that the very best beauty products should be full of the excessive hidden markups that other luxury brands charge.
We collaborate with the world’s leading labs so you can get direct access to our exceptional collection of extraordinary skincare, makeup and more - minus the unfair extra costs.
Because of this, what the customer sees and interacts with must be impactful, world class. As we migrate across to Shopify and our teams evolve, we’re seeking an additional UX Designer to join our carefully crafted Product and Design team. As UX Designer at Beauty Pie, you are highly influential in shaping the customer journey from product discovery, evaluation through to purchase. You will play close attention to the entire customer journey, end to end and create impactful and memorable digital experiences.
Having 3+ years experience in industry, as well as your strong portfolio that demonstrates user-centred thinking, you will be problem solving through a critical lense, and using your high-quality design craft across mobile, web, and multi-platform experiences.
Working closely with UX Lead, Product Managers and Engineers to define problems, explore solutions, and deliver polished, scalable experiences. Whilst applying strong visual craft, critical thinking, reasoning, accessibility, collaboration, and evidence-based decision-making.
You must be comfortable working in agile, cross-functional teams, and hold experience contributing to and working within design systems. You will apply your understanding of how to balance customer needs, business goals, brand principles, and technical constraints.
As you confidently communicate ideas, present rationale to stakeholders, and partner closely with Engineers, you will ensure thoughtful, feasible implementation.
It goes without saying, a strong proficiency in Figma is essential, alongside a solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility principles, and platform-specific best practices, particularly across web and native iOS experiences.
You’ll be expected to contribute not just to how things look, but to how they work, and why.
We believe it's all about mindset, great skills and attitude and a fantastic work ethic being key. If you’re aligned to our values, excited about the opportunity, and you’re really good at what you do (even if you don’t tick all the boxes) apply anyway!*
* A strong portfolio, demonstrating both UX thinking and UI craft, ideally within e-commerce or product environments
* Ability to solutionise at all stages with evidence of critical thinking
* Expert in Figma (components, auto layout, prototyping, scalable systems)
* Strong understanding a variety of design systems, including interaction design, hierarchy, and visual systems
* Solid understanding of responsive web design principles and ideally (not a prerequisite) to have experience with iOS and native app design patterns
* Exposure to Shopify (themes, sections, blocks), is a plus
* Experience utilising basic UX research methods and usability principles in order to use the data to inform decision making at each stage
* Exceptional communication skills with a collaborative, pragmatic approach
* Truly agile mindset with a strong bias for action
*The stated experience and background is a guide and does not preclude applications from candidates with more or less experience, provided the requisite skills can be demonstrated.
On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for:
* Product & Experience Design; you will be translating product goals, user needs and data into end to end user journey solutions. You will need to apply and communicate clean and relevant design principles in order to create and deliver intuitive and low friction experiences that work for the customer whilst meeting commercial goals.
* UX Thinking & Discovery; Participate in discovery, utilising accurate self founded data and research to support decisions and solutions and communicating to a non-technical audience.
* High-Fidelity UI & Craft; producing elevated designs that are consistent and seamless across platform
* Responsive & Platform-Aware Design; understand and adapting to nuance across platforms that can be relayed across different contexts
* Design Systems & Scalability; Contribute to building designs that are flexible and reusable, maximising efficiency without compromising quality
* Collaboration & Delivery; partner not only with UX and Product but also Engineering to truly understand constraints and flexibility across platforms which will in turn help form clear documentation and prototypes for documentation
* Data-Driven Iteration; utilising analytics and A/B testing to review performance and inform iteration. Owning key metrics and utilising these to inform design moving forwards
