Specialized in the field of Minimally Invasive Medicine, Novanta Medical develops devices and accessories so that doctors can operate with small cuts. We produce Cameras, Insufflators, Medical Pumps, and tubing that makes diagnosis and treatment easier for everyone. Our insufflators and pump systems dilate cavities in the body and turn previously complicated surgeries into minor procedures. Together with customers, doctors, and technical experts, our teams continuously search for new ways to innovate. Job Summary As a Working Student in Advanced Engineering , you will support the development and evaluation of innovative medical devices by executing proof-of-concept studies, functional assessments, and technical investigations for insufflators, peristaltic pumps, and disposable tube sets. The role includes hands-on work with hardware prototypes, software-supported data analysis, testing activities, and technical documentation in English. Primary Responsibilities Support the development, prototyping, testing, and evaluation of medical insufflators, pumps, and disposable devices. Assist in hardware-related investigations, component evaluations, and technical troubleshooting. Analyze test data using MS Excel, Python, or similar software tools. Support software-related activities such as test automation, scripting, or data processing where applicable. Plan, execute, and document proof-of-concept studies, functional tests, and verification activities. Create and modify CAD models and drawings for prototypes and test fixtures. Prepare technical reports and test documentation in English. Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies Bachelor's or Master's student in Medical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field Basic knowledge of hardware development, electronics, software development, or data analysis Experience with programming languages is an advantage Strong analytical and logical thinking skills Knowledge of documenting technical or scientific results Very good English and/or German skills Team player with strong communication skills Novanta is proud to be an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action workplace.
