You will be excited by the opportunity to lead and facilitate development of project wide strategy that enables successful integration of Sydney Metro West The Metro West project is a new 24 km underground metro which includes nine new stations, stabling and maintenance facility and precast yards. The Tunnel Packages runs from Westmead through into Hunter Street. It is a complex project, with many significant stakeholders and unique challenges, connecting the Central River City to the heart of Sydney CBD. It is a once in a generation, city shaping project which will change how people live and work in Sydney. Reporting to the Director Project Integration, you will own the Project Integration framework, and operate across all functions of the project to ensure project integration activities are delivered. You will develop and deploy strategy toward major integration issues and provide high-quality integration advice to the Integration Director and leadership team. Some of the key accountabilities: Operate effectively across a breadth of functional areas including Delivery, Engineering, Assurance, Test, PMO, Commercial & Operational functions to bring alignment and joint approaches across teams. Operate the Integration Framework, champion the Project Integration Group and Functional Integration Group meetings to achieve rapid issue resolution and sound Project Management. Undertake expert level analysis of the Projects Integration performance, providing expert level advice. Develop strategy as necessary toward upcoming major integration events and key integration issues. Be a strong communicator and a highly collaborative experienced leader that is effective across non-direct reports. Be an effective operator in a highly complex environment. This is a fixed term opportunity up to 5.5 years, Transport Senior Service Executive TSSE1A level role. The Home Office for the Metro West project is the Integrated Project Office in the CBD, in addition to some time in the relevant local station project office. Experience across major infrastructure project phases: Procurement, design, construct, test, completion, hand-over, certification and how integration occurs in those phases. You enjoy operating broadly, with a natural ability to operate across a breadth of functional areas and subject including Delivery, Assurance, Test, PMO, Commercial & Operational readiness. You are an “all of project” expert. Your interpersonal skills are high calibre, you inspire and motivate others to work together toward project goals. You are excited by major challenges & lean into ambiguity and disconnects to unlock problems and bring certainty. As a team player, you’re someone who always have people at the heart! You’ll demonstrate exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and your ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including those at executive level. Individuals with previous major infrastructure project integration particularly in Rail will be highly regarded. Engineering tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience with a proven record of project delivery of large scale and complex engineering works This position is identified as a Rail Safety Worker (RSW).
