Basic Job Functions: The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Supervisor is responsible for safely leading and developing a team of environmental operators and environmental, health, & safety professionals, while working towards helping achieve Nucor’s goal of becoming the world's safest steel company. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to growing and developing the team; working with and building relationships across departments to ensure a mutual understanding and execution of safety and environmental compliance requirements; maintenance and operations of environmental systems; leading safety initiatives; implementation and operation of environmental and safety programs in addition to EHS department activities and other duties as assigned. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications: Three years of experience in a leadership or environmental technical role Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical engineering or related degree or equivalent years of applicable experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience in environmental permitting and compliance in a manufacturing or industrial environment Experience with air pollution control and water treatment operations, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting Experience leading technicians, operational teams, or cross-functional groups Experience supporting capital projects, equipment upgrades, or process improvements Experience in OSHA compliance in a manufacturing or industrial environment Experience with implementation and maintenance of a radiation safety & ISO 14001 program Geographically mobile for current or future career opportunities Nucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace
