As an Engineer, Controls & Instrumentation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, optimization, and continuous improvement of Hershey's manufacturing systems. You will provide technical expertise in electrical, controls, and instrumentation systems while driving process improvements, cybersecurity initiatives, compliance, and operational excellence. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Development, and Capital Project teams, you will support day-to-day operations and lead projects that enhance performance, productivity, and future growth. What will you do? Provide technical support for electrical, controls, and instrumentation systems to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing performance. Investigate equipment and control system issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive solutions. Develop and maintain industrial control network architecture and cybersecurity measures, including firewalls and security policies. Conduct operational testing and validation activities to improve production efficiency, quality, and process performance. Manage calibration programs and ensure compliance with critical control point (CCP) and regulatory requirements. Lead assigned capital projects from concept development through commissioning, startup, and handover. Develop user requirement specifications (URS), support equipment procurement activities, and coordinate FAT, SAT, installation, and commissioning processes. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, Center of Excellence (COE) teams, and external vendors to deliver project objectives. Support new product initiatives by evaluating and recommending electrical, controls, and instrumentation solutions. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities that increase efficiency, reliability, and cost savings. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to support future manufacturing innovation. Minimum Requirements Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in technical support, controls engineering, and project management within food, confectionery, chemical, pharmaceutical, or similar manufacturing environments. Experience supporting processing and packaging equipment within a GMP manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of industrial automation and control systems, including PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems, instrumentation, and industrial networks. Hands-on experience with Rockwell and Siemens PLC platforms, process instrumentation, Ethernet networks, OPC/Kepware technologies, and manufacturing control systems. Experience managing capital projects, equipment commissioning, startup activities, and cross-functional project teams. Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity practices and manufacturing system integration. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, project management, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
