Job Title: Engineering Technician D Job Code: 44953 Job Location: Palm Bay, FL Job Schedule: 4/10 Monday - Thursday Job Description: Engineering Technician Level D is a highly developed technical support individual contributor who performs a broad range of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical disciplines. This role supports engineering, manufacturing, testing, and maintenance activities through the construction, troubleshooting, calibration, adjustment, diagnosis, repair, and sustainment of equipment, components, devices, and systems. Working with a high degree of autonomy, Engineering Technician Level D applies advanced technical knowledge and practical experience to resolve issues, support operational goals, and make recommendations for solutions and process improvements. This position may also serve as a mentor to lower-level technicians and provide guidance on technical tasks and standard work practices. Essential Functions: Perform a variety of technical duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas in support of engineering and operational objectives. Assist in the design, construction, test, checkout, and validation of test equipment, fixtures, and support systems. Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment, components, devices, and systems. Perform calibration and alignment checks and complete adjustments, modifications, and component replacements as directed. Operate, support, and maintain complex machines, specialized test equipment, and computer-controlled systems. Work from schematics, operating manuals, repair manuals, engineering drawings, specifications, and written or verbal instructions. Conduct tests, collect data, and document results in prescribed formats in accordance with engineering and quality requirements. Prepare prescribed compounds, solutions, and materials as required to support technical and laboratory processes. Identify technical problems, analyze root causes, and recommend practical solutions to engineering, manufacturing, or leadership teams. Support process improvements, equipment sustainment, and operational efficiency initiatives through sound technical judgment and initiative. Provide guidance and mentoring to lower-level peers on technical assignments, troubleshooting methods, and task execution. Communicate with contacts within and outside the department to obtain, clarify, interpret, and provide technical information. Support assignments requiring judgment, initiative, and a strong working knowledge of established procedures, systems, and equipment. Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and operational standards in the performance of all duties. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Ability to obtain a TS/SCI with poly US Government Security Clearance Preferred Additional Skills: Experience supporting test equipment, production equipment, or laboratory systems. Ability to interpret schematics, engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications. Experience performing troubleshooting, calibration, repair, and maintenance on complex equipment or systems. Demonstrated ability to work independently and provide technical guidance to others. Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills. Familiarity with continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and process support activities
